    A great effort this season.

We have the foundation of a team to challenge for autos next season.

All depends who we bring in.

Also it may depend who we can get off the books.

Lets hope West Ham win the play offs.

Some acievement by Allardyce not to get that group of players up automatically.

    Compare West Ham to Blackburn.

Nothing to be afraid of there.

Yeah, Hilts. Haters will give us **** again, but you are right. Disappointing now, but we were very unsure of where we would finsih this season. West Ham are just too good.

A big positive is we own our players, not like previous seasons where half the team would return back to their parent club. A big and very important summer for MM.

MM does want a bigger squad, so He may not let too many go. Apparently there will be 3-4 million to spend so we will see what happens.

Well said Hilts. I think just making the playoffs this season was a big achievement considering the state we were in 11 to 12 months ago, a good season overall :)

I think most of us agree we would have taken play offs and a cup final back in July. Overall I think this squad has done pretty well.

We need to get rid of a few to create space for better players next season. My list would be:-

    Keinan
    Naylor
    Wildig
    Taiwo
    Lawrence
    Gerrard
    Miller
    and sad to say Earnie

I think miller can stay but he needs a big man up there with him. As for the rest. Yeah. Pretty much.

What, you're going to keep Parkin!!! <yikes><yikes><yikes>

I think we should keep Miller provided we can get some support for him.

Two wide men (haven't we been saying that all season?) and a hold up striker for the starting positions and we're there or there abouts, just adding a bit of depth in other positions.

Sorry remote, how could I possibly forget Parkin, he would be top of that list.

I think we keep Miller. But clearly we need someone else to rotate strikers as well, he was playing too many games when not on form.

Also, knowing he was almost always going to start meant he was not really under pressure for his place. I'm not suggesting he was complacent, but he has looked tired on occasions, frustrated definitely and hence snatching at chances he would have expected to put away.

Here's to next season, hoping we can build on this one where IMO we punched above our weight. It's been a blast!

A brilliant effort this season :) But we need a goals scorer and some pace. Didn't believe we would get this far in Mackay's first season. Well Done Malky and the boys <applause>

If Miller was on reasonable wages id be more than happy to keep him.

If rumours are true hes on huge wages - therefore sell if we can.

A big striker to play alongside Joe Mason.

I agree with a lot of the players to let go, but I would hope that we can perhaps keep a couple as solely squad players. But their salary has to be taken into account.

Take Gerrard for instance. It may be worth hanging on to him. I don't know if Miller will be bought after this season. It would take a brave club to pay him as much as we do. We do have Quinn as well.

So yeah, Parken, Dekel, Wildig, Taiwo, and Earnie for me.

Just don't want us to start next season with 15 real first team players. we need at least 20 guys who can step up, and then some youngsters

Just hope we actually have some wingers at the start of next season. I am not convinced that Whitts will be here.

I wouldn't get too downhearted if I were you lot. You've had a new manager come in and to be frank has done a really good job. He has got you into the play offs and a cup final in his first season in charge. Also you lost a lot of players at the end of last season an he has had to bring in new. From what I've seen he's changed the playing style too and seems to favour more of a passing game. As has already been said you won't get another summer of upheaval like the last one as the players are contracted to the club and not loanees. Yes players will come and go but at least the present bunch play as a team and not individuals (like last years team), give the manager time and I'm sure you will get stronger.

I know you must all be feeling a bit flat right now but did you expect to do as well at the start of the season ? I didn't think you would, I thought you'd be mid table with a season of transition, your manager had other ideas and given a chance I see no reason why he can't guide you to promotion.

Commiserations fellas, there's always next season.

    cheers dili, good read that.

i think we mix things up, we play quick passing football but sometimes teams sit back and allow us to pass in front of them and then as soon as we hit the front players we lose the ball, we have a tendancy to go long to players who wont win the ball too.

but its been a very good season, we've just come up short quality wise in the play offs but with a few additions we'll kick on and be a better team next year..

players like mason and gunnarson have been gems and although you cant continually pull rabbits out of the hat i dont think massive spending is the way forwards. it doesnt take alot of money to get promoted as other teams have shown.

Hi Mabs, I heard some sort of announcement relating to the club's finances would be made tomorrow but no more than that. I can't see the owners making changes to that extent although if getting full financial control they may well want to establish their own identity in some way.

However, it's not in their nature to pump in the very large sums needed to make all the changes listed in the article in one fell swoop - increase capacity, multi million pound training centre?

Good post Dilli <ok>. Once we eliminate the muppetts we can certainly have sensible discussions even though we will always want out own clubs to do better than our neigbours.

Anyone ever pay much attention to George Boyd from Peterborough? Left winger with 8 goals and 11 assists. They call him the White Pele. He is listed now as he refused to sign a new contract.
