I have just been trawling through other teams boards and was surprised how many teams have abandoned their 606 boards, we are one of the most active and even we have a small number of regulars. The old 606 was a height of activity with every club but for some reason the majority of fans have not taken to this 606.....why????? i don't believe it is because of wums as it never affected the old 606....
Thing is Dai when 606 closed there were a lot of alternatives, and certain clubs supporters went elsewhere it's that simple, there are over 14k users on the forum and 1.4m posts and 85k threads on here, and currently 387 registered users online , the stats will show that posts are increasing not the other way. A forum's content is king, you make the forum interesting and people will come and stay for the most part , match threads, best player votes , prediction leagues all help with us. But the most important thing are quality threads with interesting debating points are the most important, without them and the board dies! Keeping the board active means that when people log into the website there are new threads and opinions to discuss, that is what it's all about.
I know what you are saying but on other boards you will find that they have not used it for days and some of them weeks. Its a shame. As we have got wolves up next i wanted to see what their fans think and there is nobody there, the old 606 was brilliant and you could go on any board at any time that the board was open and you would find fans there....
Yeah I miss that element of 606 as well mate, the bbc has a lot to answer for, penny pinching on their online presence will come back and bite them on the arse in the years to come, they had options to have trusted users as moderators but it was not done! Still there is not a lot we can do now, the wolves fans as well as most of the midlands clubs supporters went elsewhere, sad yes but it's up to them, I tried ja606 and thought that would be good , but it died a death when they had server problems. The swans forum on there is dead , and it's the same for extra-time! Planetswans is busy but I don't like it.
i have tried all them boards also and did not like them. its strange because this 606 is better IMHO than the old 606 and is better than everything i have tried.
I liked the old 606 but that's irrelevant now. So long as the Swans one is active I'm happy. Don't really care about others - not even those up the road. Honest.
