If we are going to do a Blackpool its now the time to show it only the max from the next 2 games is a priority nothing less will do then we can get on a roll I would not discount Leicester also improving whilst Hull don,t score enough for me. My take on the rest of the field Cardiff got themselves in a slump finish outside the top 6 now like Hull have a problem scoring Boro going downhill fast will not finish in the top 6 Southampton invested wisely will finish in top 2 West HAM lucky Saturday but poor home will cost them dear a fight with Reading for 2 spot Birmingham Houghton has done a really good job seem to have overcome fatigue play offs Brighton will battle for a playoff spot with Leeds Leicesterand Blackpool only 2 will do it lets hope its us!
Only us and Leicester in the top half of the championship haven't won 3 in a row in the league this season. With a very poor Forest team visiting tomorrow night, Millwall away on Saturday (you just know Keogh will have a blinder) and Watford at home next Saturday it would be the ideal time to change that stat and go into the Reading game full of confidence. We nearly beat Reading at Elland Road last season when they were on their long winning run and with the pressure firmly on them now we can go into that match with nothing to lose. We still have Derby and Posh at home so we need to show the desire and ability to win these type of matches like we did earlier in the season against the likes of Bristol and Palace, but knowing us we will remain inconsistent.
If anything I hope Reading win all their games up to ours, because runs like that end eventually and the longer they go on, the more pressure is on them to perform. We have a habit of ending runs like that, comes as part of the "us against them" mentality in that we love nothing more than to stick a thorn in the paw.
Hi there good post! I can't believe how tight it is for the playoff positions and its anybodys guess as to who will clinch the spots. One thing I am sure of is that whoever finishes 3rd out of us, reading and west ham will not win the playoffs due to just losing out on the automatics. Good luck to Leeds I hope they can sneak in there.
Yeah Reading are currently unbeaten in 10, winning 9 of those. They are away at Posh on Tuesday, at home to Blackpool on Saturday so we will be praying for a favour there, and then they have a huge game before they face us at West Ham.
I don't think anybody would fancy playing Leeds in the playoffs! I am just praying we finish in the top 2 and avoid that evil lottery lol.
Southampton deserve auto promotion in my eyes Alex, they have been consistant all year, just hope we can sneak into playoffs, see you in the Prem ;-)
It's a tough one to call, Reading have to play Wet Sham and Southampton which could decide a lot. But looking at the run in none of the top three have it easy but I'd go for Reading and Southampton, Wet Sham look the most nervy of the three.
Forest, 'Wall & Watford next three games. The way we've been playing of late, 9 pts isn't beyond us. If other results go our way, we could suddenly see ourselve in the top 6 & have it in our hands. As things stand, we have to rely a bit on other results. But as I say, these next three games really are pivotal to our season.
Still a long way to go yet be we are unbeaten 10 so were on the right track! Tough game away at Hull tomorrow night for us. Out of interest who are your remaining games against?
forest home millwall away watford home reading away derby home blackpool away peterborough home cardiff away leicester home
Reading, Blackpool, Cardiff and Leicester are the stand out fixtures to me for you guys the rest look winnable get 3 wins from those 4 games and you'll make it I reckon.
We'll do well to beat any of Millwall, Derby or Cardiff given the recent history against these teams.
Since January I have lost count of the amount of threads started along the lines of Next (insert here) Games (insert here) Points A Must.... We always fail within two matches, let's just cross fingers and see
If the form over the last eight games was to continue until the end of the season, you wouldn't finish in the top half... Southampton 95 Reading 95 West Ham 85 Boro 75 Birmingham 74 Brighton 73 Blackpool 71 Hull 71 Ipswich 69 Cardiff 67 Leicester 66 Palace 65 Obviously it won't stay like that, some are bound to balls things up and others are likely to come on strong at the end, it's really hard to predict this season.
I would love you to be right, but i can't see us being close enough due to our inconsistancy and this kind of proves my point, i dont think Leicester will win enough to be up there, would like to see us sneak up a few places though, maybe 8th or 9th.
