Harry thinks we'll need about 6 more wins to be safe, obviously I'd love 1 of those to be the scum at HQ but more realistic I can see us beating Everton and then I'm struggling.
Can anyone see where our 6 wins will come from?

Potential away wins (yes, really!): Hull, Burnley, Villa, Leicester, Sunderland, WBA, Palace, Stoke

    Home: Everton, Newcastle, Arsenal, Spurs.

    Why not?

5 wins with 3 or 4 draws would give us 37/38 points, enough to see us safe most seasons, allows for 9 or 10 losses still. The key will be to pick up at least two or maybe three away wins against the teams around us, hopefully starting at Burnley!

Away wins against our rivals would be great, but draws would be good results as well.

Uber - i love your optimism but can you really see 8 away wins after 0 so far...? That would be some turnaround...!
I agree though - i always believe we will win every (well most) games we play, so those 8 are winnable - but first we need to change the way we play away. Harry, over to you!

Get some momentum with a win at Burnley (or even a point) and self belief will return that points can be won away.
Think we'll beat Everton at home, I'm surprised at how poor they are this season, should have had some conviction at their place a few weeks ago because a point at least was there for the taking.

Looking at our remaining fixtures, they look very tough. Obviously the away games look easier on paper but how we do in the home games could be pivotal.
We traditionally play well against the top sides at home and I wouldn't be surprised if we took a couple of scalps.

Where did I say we'd get eight away wins? I was merely pointing out that all those games are potentially winnable. Whether the Rs win them or not is another matter.

Afraid we have to do it the hard way and beat some of the top sides at home. Can't see more than maybe two wins away from home coupled with two-three draws.

Home wins to come against Southampton, Everton, West Ham and Newcastle are not beyond the realms of possibility. I also see us troubling Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs with our 'rustic' style of football.

The fact that we're not trailing at this point is for me a good sign. To have it all in our own hands is a whole lot better than what we experienced in our last two attempts to stay up.

I don't think that six wins is a big ask. Everton, West Ham and Southampton at home, Burnley, Palace and WBA away. Then Newcastle (H) and Leicester (a) if we still need points. Piece of cake!

We are genuinely better than more than 3 teams in this league, on paper and in performance. We'd only get relegated via bad luck, I think. Have some faith!

When you put it like that - six wins - it does make it sound more do-able. I'd give us a healthy chance of doing that. I thought we played well against Swansea so, despite surrendering 2 points late on, I'm feeling fairly positive.

I've been mulling over this thread all day and wrote down all the games I thought we might get some points from, but how many and if it will be enough, I'm not sure.

    Burnley (A)
    Sunderland (A)
    Hull (A)
    Palace (A)
    Everton (H)
    West Brom (A)
    Villa (A)
    West Ham (H)
    N'Castle (H)
    Leicester (A)

Compared to the last 2 season“s we had spend in the PL we have shown big improvements (at a low standard surely) and strongly believe that we will get all 3 points at Burnley (and beat Sheffield in the cup for a change). Out of the 9 away defeats Spurs (worst performance), ManU., WH and Arsenal we only lacked confidence rather than class. Especially Everton was very disappointing since as they were bad on that day and we were unlucky losing that one. We have to consider ourselves lucky that not many relevant players did have any injuries and if Harry keeps playing 442 we might even win several games away from home. I am utterly confident that we will get the right results pretty soon.

I think we have a chance but the team looks fragile I keep hoping we will get better but it's very one directional ... We have own goals and cock ups written all over us
I think we will get heavily beaten at Burnley maybe by 4 and after that it's going to look a lot tougher for all of us

It's as much about denying them the points as taking something ourselves.
