No ones destined for anything... this is the championship everyone beats anyone.. And Gas.. go **** yourself
Thank you for those few kind words. I was really pleased when you pulled out of the bottom two in your junior football league, but I think I'll change my mind and dance with delight when you sink back into the mire in the not too distant future.
As I said elsewhere; In real terms City now need to get at least the full hand of results every three matches. One win. one draw and allow for one defeat. That's about six wins , four draws and six defeats, or something silmilar for the rest of the season. Is that impossible? I think not if City are good enough. McGuiness had a purple patch over nine or ten games last season, Wardie is having one at Rovers. It's just SOD's turn that's all!!
. 16 = 6 wins 4 draws 6 losses = It is time we strung together 3 wins and a couple of draws = They certainly seem to this season more than any other..fort Cardiff would be a good place to be in a winning sequence.......... a couple of weeks ago the bottom 8 playing each other was very few, suddenly we our selves find we have to play at home.. Barnsley Sheff Bolton Birm* and Hudds.............................. * Forest Brighton and Midds the others.....Anyone dare to predict our 8 home games? . . . .I wont. . . JUST HOPE THERE IS 4 WINS IN THERE
It's in our own hands and we have to play plenty of teams around us home and away, plus a few teams that are flying high. I still cant really see the likes of Wolves, Birmingham or Bolton being relegated so it's still between the likes of us, Posh, Barnsley, Sheff Wed and Huddersfield for me. Perming a definite 3 from those 5 teams for the drop is the hardest task.
No team is too big to be relegated fro the old division 2 now the championship just look back through the history books on football even in recent memory Manchester City, Leeds Utd, Sheffield Wed and Sheff Utd thats just off the top of my head without looking at any records. Every year it seems in Feburary one team goes into freefall from mid table to relegation and one or two of the bottom clubs suddenly hit form and pull up into safety, the problem is which teams are going to do what? With a couple of additions we will have a squad quite capable of climbing to safety BUT it is very much a confidence thing If clubs like ourselves and Barnsley start beating the clubs just above the drop zone their confidence could take a knock and their form will suffer there could be a lot more twists and turns this season still to come.
I agree Hawk and we've all seen big clubs relegated from this league. Aside from the ones you've said. I can also add the likes of Sunderland, Preston, Swansea and QPR to that list. However I'm not as confident of us escaping this time as we usually struggle home and away against the likes of Wolves, and teams like Bolton that were in the Prem last year have an extra edge of quality that we dont possess. I'm sure SOD will have the boys fired up to face Forest and I think this game will be a key pointer as to whether we're up for the fight from now until May.
Even Luton, once a top flight side. How many years have they been trying to ge back to league status? Results this year alone indicate that if you top and tail the divisions, there ain't a lot to choose between any of the remainder of the clubs. The gap has closed significantly, probably due to FFP rules.
SAP the = was " the feed to the next balloon"...lol ..I think sheff have the momentum to take them up to about 15th/16th Barnsley possibly can string together a few points to get up there with them, I do not think this season will be one where 1 team left adrift so just 2 fighting to break water...5 teams possibly but which 5?
