I disagree completely as a general rule. I have felt for years that having too many subs is just what is killing the game, especially the PL. players are happy to go and sit in the bench week after week on anything from £40-100+k per week; whereas if the clubs were only allowed to name and play 3 subs the players would be forced to consider other clubs.
Too many things favours money in football. This favours it more. Five subs is half a team. It will be abused.
Personally think 3 is too many , so no for me. Subs should be injuries only , no tactical subs . It’ll never happen though , times change.
Not against tactical subs to a level but this??? some mangers will use it for anti football. ten minutes to go one up ref sub on he comes, ref ref sub on comes another, ref sub sub ref SUB , REF REF SUB and the games over or broken up. imagine the impact of bringing an entire midfield on v a team that haven't got that depth due to money ????
I think max 3 subs in total is ok, but maybe subbed players could be reused..which would still count as one of the 3......5 subs is ridiculous IMO
3 is plenty , 5 as you say would be used to slow the game down , and also give an even bigger advantage to clubs that can afford to have a greater depth to their squad.
