We are set for a battle no doubt but what gives me hope is our head to head results with Watford and Bournemouth. Those two are both going to be in the mini league along with Villa,Sunderland,Leicester and probably one or two others. It is going to be the results between this group that will determine survival. Having said that if we were relegated next season I would be quite confident of an immediate return. Boing! Boing!

Exactly it - our problem last time we were in the Prem was we kept losing to the teams around us as they sat back and let us play in front of them then hit us on the counter

Brilliant article Cromer and thanks for posting.

Exactly CT. It will who takes the most points out of these matches who will not be battling to stay up come next May.
IMO, I'd add Stoke, WBA and Newcastle ito the mix as well.

We are going to stay up next season, no question and I need no more than just one reason why I am so confident:

Alex Neil is our manager, there is no way he'll let us go down.

    Nuff said <ok>

Gonna take your predictions with a pinch of salt following the "we're going to win the Championship" one you made <whistle>

Really, Stoke? They were easily better than a lot of the teams going this season and even managed to put a few teams to the sword, can't see them slipping down now, unless something drastic happens. Agree WBA and Newcastle are going to be in danger, because WBA always are and Newcastle is a complete shambles. I reckon they might even go down next season. Worth a bet I would say.

I wasn't far off, much closer than most other people predicted - and I was smart enough to lay my bets on us each-way so I still had a very tidy profit by the end of the season.

Currently 8/11 for us to avoid relegation next season, so if anyone is looking for a 73% return on an investment look no further in my opinion <ok>

I agree that we will be in the mini league but I would disregard Leicester, they will be dark horses for the Europa League next year IMO. Newcastle, Sunderland and Villa with the three relegated clubs will be the six in trouble but like Munky, my faith in AN will see us clear of 18th I reckon.

Must admit, I also raised an eyebrow on reading that. They are pretty solid now and will probably be top half again.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Swansea getting sucked into the mix as well, be interesting to see how they survive a whole season without Bony as I'm not convinced by that Gomis bloke yet. They definitely can't be ruled out of the equation, surprised Palace haven't featured on the the list either, and I personally think Leicester have a long way to go before they are anything like an established PL, particularly as Cambiasso's legs might not be up to another season like the one he just had

Could we add Southampton in the mini league? they will now play Europa football next season and if you look at other clubs who has been in it, their league form dips quite a lot.

I'm feeling fairly confident we will stay up next season.

And if so, maybe Wet Sham. They start Europa League qualifying games in a month, so it will be a long season for them.
Please let's not over-perform and even remotely threaten the Europa League places <yikes>

Didn't realise they were in it too, they will definitely struggle. Although I would really like to see us play in Europe, I don't think we could cope with the extra games and traveling as well.

Swansea and Saints, pure fantasy. If I had to add an outlier it would be West ham. But the problem with predicting is that we dont know how the line ups will look in August. Newcastle will almost certainly have a new manager and there will be substantial transfer activity. One player can make a huge difference, look at Holt in our first season back. Maybe Rickie Lambert to Bournemouth?
