I hate these "summers" with no World Cup or European Championships. There was no chance that I was watching any womens football. So how good is it that in only 5 days time, the league begins and Rangers are out for their quest of 4IAR! A remarkable feat considering the off field problems we have had over the past few years. I think we still have a few more additions to come in, hopefully Big Carlos, but I'm thinking Spain is his more likely destination and perhaps another return for Kenny Miller, though I would offer Bursa exactly what we paid for him. An issue for us last season was conceding too many sloppy goals, so our defence should be our main priority. Well more than usual. This issue needs to be sorted out first. The loan signings will also come in but that could be another few weeks as the EPL clubs go through their squad selection before they start their games on the 13th August. But I still think with a few additions we will be more than capable of retaining the League title. Celtic haven't really done anything with their squad of runners up from last season, so unless they get some major reconstruction in the next few weeks, it should be business as normal.
If the papers are to be believed, Whyte has promised significant additional funds on top of the original £5m for this season. Some reports are giving the figure as up to £15 million extra, so hopefully these deals will start to go through. We should also get a decision on the proposed Bartley loan in the next few days.
