I'm thinking we're less than halfway through the season, so a lot can change.

Yup. I've said this for a while - we have to accept that Tottenham, for this season at least, are better than us. We are in a top four fight with Chelsea. I do not think Liverpool are good enough to get it.

We have been playing like a top 4 team, we have dominated games and created enough chances for a top 4 team...But we are not scoring like a top 4 team. That will probably cost us, unless our luck changes in the second half of the season we will not get top 4. I have a feeling that we will always be within a shout of top 4 (as we are now) but we will always be playing catch up.

I'm not worried about Spurs bottling it towards the end of season, so I think it will be us, Chelsea and Spurs fighting for third and fourth spot.
But I fear that there will be no St. Totteringhams Day this season :/:
Liverpool 4th or 5th at best.

Arsenal have a poor record this season (so far!) against their rivals for Top 4. Already lost to Man Utd, Man City, Spurs, (all away from home) also lost at home to 'pool. Was a great result against chelsea to be sure but 3pts from 15pts available isn't going to help.
Positive thing is we still have to play most of them at home so at best we need to 'reverse' the majority of those results to stand a real chance of a Top 4 spot.
We've improved of late and this one defeat doesn't make us a poor side again. Man city unbeaten at home for ages - no disgrace. We do however need to re-group and get some positive results against villa / wolves etc that are upcoming.
Good performance today, let's not get to despondent. My Top 4: Man City Man Utd Spurs & then ??? Arsenal (hopefully!!)

To be fair the chavs have to play us (spurs), city, Liverpool and you away.

We also have played less home games than all of the teams around us i believe, would rather play teams outside top 6 at home and take anything we can get against the other top 6 teams away from home.

Although my avatar is set at the Emirates it is actually a Liverpool player and I am a Liverpool fan. ;)
Nonetheless that is also interesting. We have to play Utd and City away and the rest (yourselves, Arsenal, Chelsea) at home. Saying that...our away record is better than our home at the moment. Think the race between 3-6th will be very tight till the end of the season, good for a neutral...for us it will be an emotional nightmare. <yikes>

What you also have to take into account is some of your away games may be against teams fighting for survival towards the end of the season.

I think this is fight to the very end and any team in the top 6 can finish top 4! Writing any team off at this stage is silly!

Injuries, European football and the ability to grab points when not playing well are all key factors.

The end of the season is harder as well as clubs fighting relegation up their games and get more desperate for points

We also have a poor record against the lesser teams as it is, which is why 4th is a big ask for us.

Sounds just like our record against manure and Newcastle, only slightly better!

I have said all along that i really don't see liverpool as a huge threat to us and i think that it will be between us chelsea and spurs for 3rd and 4th but yeh it is very early in the season.

Hmmmm, quite a few writing Liverpool off here. Interesting! Arsenal currently have no full backs fit, Chelsea's form is sporadic - both teams have the CL to consider, not to mention the loss of key players for the ANC. Spurs are nailed on 3rd imo, I think Liverpool will give the other London teams a damn good run for their money for fourth.

Hope you're right. Would be great to see the chavs and gooners miss out on CL football.
