Well when I say we I mean a very small portion of Rangers fans. A truely fanstastic day and such a shame to have it finish the way it did. The support was magnificent and I'm sure we'll struggle to see another show of support for a football team like that.
Great day out. I remember running for miles that night from both police and Zenith fans. The pigs brought it on themselves
I was there, was brilliant all day up until 19:55 then it was a ****ing nightmare. still got the scars from that night
Yeah, the angels of Glasgow. We went round to the big wheel to watch it when Picadilly TV packed in. When we went back round there after it was madness. Riot cops charged at a load of people, smartass Pendes jumped into a bus shelter and let them charge pass. Don't think I got back to Blackpool till about 3 or 4. My mate pulled some bird in picadilly gardens and went back to tank her. Didn't know the score or the fact that our fans were trashing the place. Weather was lovely. Beer was warm.
I missed the whole match. saw the last 5 mins through a pub window apparently riot police were "drafted in later on in the evening" that's funny cos I remember leaving piccadilly gardens at 5 past 8 and was greeted with a wall of them shouting abuse at us and pushing us for no reason what so ever. ****ing scum bags
We were just outside Picadilly watching it. While we were waiting for the screen to come back on , there was a rumour that spread that Rangers were 1-0 up. Folks round me were jumping up and down totally ****ing mental. It was like being down the front at a concert - I couldn't even get the can of beer to my mouth cos it was that packed. Then bottles started flying and the police came charging through the crowd sending every poor bastard in their way flying. Some old guy was getting trampled by the ****s just metres away from me. Some guy was reaching to get him back on his feet and was getting battered by polis batons for his trouble. Blood was pishing out the auld guy. No wonder it kicked off. ****s brought it on themselves.
What a complete balls up. Remember about a week before the game they said not to travel to Manchester if you didn't have a ticket and that there would be no fanzones. I bet they **** themselves when they seen how many there were.
Great day out The trip down was amazing. Every service station was packed with gers fans. There was a car on the back of a recovery vehicle and was decked out in flags and scarves, guy was still behind the wheel I got a lift back from Manchester to the campsite on a golf course in Stockport from 2 girls. Never seen a bit of bother, but never seen much of the birds either. Campsite security turned them away. I thought it was only 1 nil until I seen a newspaper <pishinonacathedralmuir>
