And I will at last be getting ready for a proper Saturday, dont get to away games these days but with radio, dodgy stream and Sky Sports I enjoy match day. 5 weeks today and I can get back into my match day routine, well start a new routine. I always left at 11 to get a parking spot and got back home around 6, feeling guilty because it always seemed a long time for Osca to be left alone. This season he has cost me an extra £180 to get a parking spot in the green car park, east stand, so I will be leaving around 1.30 and hope to be home at 6.30 so that means 2 hours less for Osca, will he thank me, will he ****. Anyway, back to football and what could be a massive 4 weeks. Defenders and midfielder's coming in would be good before kick off but, at least one and hopefully two strikers are a must, will it be Fletcher, who knows but it needs to be someone. I know early games against promoted teams are always dodgy, you just don't know what to expect, but our first home game against Reading is one we simply must win to set out our stall and get us off to a positive start. Yes it will be early days and no it wont be the end of the world if we draw or even get beat but, in all honesty we must go in looking for a win and I expect a win. We all know how big a season it will be, first time for a long time that all the management structure is in place, a good base of players is there we only need a few essential additions, a good start and a bit of that very important luck, Bardsley's injury is not the best of starts. For far to long we Sunderland fans have had to suffer the disappointment of seeing our team let us down against the teams we really should be beating, lets hope those days are about to end. Roll on August and proper football.
Like you already counting down the days...........feels like forever since Man U game Going to my first away game for nearly 4 years Craftily told my husband it's his birthday present to go to London for weekend, spend time with some mates we've not seen for ages and go to the Arsenal game. Just so happens it's a present I get to share as well
Enjoy the "summer" while it's here, Syd. The long nights will be on us soon enough and at least we have the Olympics to keep us occupied. Two strikers is a must for me, as long as Defoe isn't one of them. Collins for Turner works and another full back would be handy, given our recent injury record and McBardo looking to have picked up something. Anyway, I should still be in bed, but the girls are off to Guide camp, so it's complete chaos chez Sid.
bloody girls getting their poor dad up like that, still I know you would be lost without them, what would you have to moan about, Mrs Sid maybe!
