I would say your performance against leeds rather than the result and a poor draw tonight should be great cause for concern myself. Reading are getting closer and closer.
For the OP, I'm already looking at that. We have to accept that occasionally we aren't going to roll sides over at home.
At the end of the day we are still top of the league and 4 points is a good return from the last two games regardless of performance. There is going to be so many twists and turns between now and the end of the season. The Reading match looks even bigger tonight though. West Ham have to play tomorrow in a game they should win but it doesn't always happen that way as tonight has shown so shouldn't take the games in hand for granted. I would rather have the points on the board.
I agree that 4 points would have been taken by most prior to Leeds game but after beating Leeds away in a heroic performance it's a kick in the nuts to draw at home against a team we spanked away. I'm still confident but our margin for error is now probably going to be goal difference... with the finishing line in touching distance, I'm concerned. Reading are a different outfit to Huddersfield last year. They are winning the games that Hudders were drawing. Every games a cup final now - come on Saints!!
I'm happy with four points but gutted with the draw tonight. BUT Ipswich have been playing really well lately so a draw isn't the end of the world. It mean that we have to make up for a home game not won by winning an extra one away from home. Keep the hope! COYR
4 points is OK i think . Would have been more understandable given who we were playing to draw away and win at home , but we didn't !
I would say your 0 - 0 draw at home to Palace was cause for concern as well but i guess you're not worrying about that are you?!
Saturday was three points gained and today was two points lost so overall its a point gained!! Maths doesn't lie guys
I would say that the performance against Leeds shows the character this team has to grind out a result when not playing well (as West Ham tend to do on a regular basis - not a criticism really just the way they play. I know what I prefer but results are results. Tonights result wasn't great but actually it was a pretty good performance and deserved the win so actually pretty happy. But still you are correct Reading look very impressive right now. Fingers crossed we can hold on.
Well, once you "put a game to bed and move onto the next one" as Adkins would say, you forget about the past and take every game as it comes and in every game there are 3 new points up for grabs...and we only got 1 today.(I´m more of a glass half empty kind of guy). ...Reading are really staring to unsettle me now. There aint no stopping them atm.
