Unless something has slipped under my radar we still have 4 players who are not in the squad but will be a considerable drain on the wage bill during the season. There still seem to be unconfirmed rumours regarding Cody - I just hope City won't regret turning down the earlier offers - but I have not heard or seen anything at all about the other three. Anybody heard anything at all? We really do need to get them off the books.

I agree we can make some money on Cody, not sure what the contract situation is with the others if it's anyone Gunn signed it's likely there is some nightmare clause involved.

Rumours would have it that McDonald is on his way to Posh today, but then you know what rumours are like <doh>. Not heard any news on Oli Johnson, Hughes, or McNamee. But you´re right, it would be good, for all concerned if they were on their way.

Brilliant business by the Club yesterday - only one left who they can probably loan out when the loan window opens. I do feel sorry for Johnson. He fought his way out of non league football, made his mark in a lower league and then came to us as his dream move with such high hopes but, despite Southend, it just never happened. I fear that in the present climate of too many players and not enough Clubs he will have to drift back into non league at the end of the season.

  6. Yeovil wanted him but didn't offer enough money on deadline day. Fully expect him to go out on loan once the window re-opens.

I don't think he'll end up back in non-league. He's quick and direct and certainly held his own when used in League One.

His goals against Southend were pivotal and he always tried hard whenever he played. Do we have to wait till January to loan him or can we before that?

As we've strayed off-topic - Morison has scored for Wales. <ok>

  12. Doesn't the 'emergency loan market' re-open in a few weeks?

  14. Thanks Dave. Makes a mockery of the window really, opening so soon after the transfer window closes. What constitutes an 'emergency' loan anyway?
