Sorry for anyone who's plans have been disrupted but that's all perfect for me. Didn't intend going to Man City, Sunday is easier for me to go to the Boro match, wouldn't have been going to the Everton game and it's easier on the train to London, from here, for the Spurs game. For expats it's sometimes a blessing when matches are moved and it sometimes means tickets suddenly become available. For anyone abroad the more live games the better, there's nothing like watching a 'live' game when you're hundreds or thousands of miles away.
Its the bars and restaurants in Sunderland I feel sorry for when they move a home game away from Saturday at 3
They've moved the early Sunday games to 2:15, pushing back the second game to a 4:30 k-o. More time in the pub for everyone going to the game.
Yep - both games kick off later than usual. http://www.skysports.com/football/tottenham-vs-sland/356382 Not sure why though.
Try and think of it like this please log in to view this image Based on last season's tv deal(think it's more this season but can't find the figures)the facility fee we'll receive for these matches will be at least £3.5m. That's an extra wage we can accommodate. A welcome surprise of extra guaranteed revenue at a time it can be Incorporated into our budget. Excellent news considering there still loads of time to make arrangements.
Stupid for people like me who work a lot of Sunday nights!! But when do the general public and proper fans ever get considered by the corporate bus that is SKY TV!
Never. It won't change either. I'm just happy we're one of the teams profiting most from the latest tv deal early in the season
Sky are ****ed once BT have fibre everywhere anyway, Sky cannot possibly match the picture quality BT will offer, and BT as a group is growing massively and developing. Sky hasn't changed for 10 years and frankly they are in real danger from BT that Virgin Media never had the muscle to provide. BT will go after more and more game packs and they will gradually weaken Sky's position. Sky wipe the floor with movies mind.
Aye but their commentators are utter gash!! Michael Owen and Steve McBananaman!! FFS Almost as bad as Andy Townsend!
BT have already said there's no chance they'll renew the sport deal at anything like their current deal. They paid way over the odds and everybody laughed at them, they've made a ridiculous loss on BT Sport. Also, Sky have started rolling out the Sky Q packs, I know cos I've got it, capable of 4k viewing as and when they start to air 4k channels.
My virgin fiber optic is ****ing bang on and cheep as ****. 50mb fibre-optic broadband, all the free tv, films and sport in HD(via the internet) and not had a single streaming issue once in 5 months. For under £25 including line rental. Wouldn't dream of getting sky. It would be flushing money down the toilet.
I've got Sky Q mate and whilst it's decent, it wasn't needed. They are 'at least 18months' from 4K, which BT already have. Netflix plays in 4K also. BT have said they will be going after more packs of games, Sky are losing customers and won't have as big a pot. BT vision is over 5million customers now, and buying EE and being able to bundle all 4 is going to smash Sky hard. BT is a ver real alternative to Sky, or is becoming so, they will pay what they can justify. They overpaid with only 1million customers, they now have 5million and so it becomes viable. I've been a Sky fan for years mate but they are falling hopelessly behind in the tech side, and the prices are beyond belief. Less and less people can afford it. Satellite is a poor format regardless, affected by weather, by over subscription etc, I can see BT winning long term, I really can. That massive outlay by BT for the games made them 8% extra profit, they will not be shy to dip back in.
