If and its a big IF we win tonight, We go into the Sheffield Wednesday game knowing a win could get us out relegation zone, and once we're out its up to us to stay out. I don't care what anyone says tonight is a must win, Lose and its all over, Regardless of us still having 7 games. It won't be enough. Derby (a) Win Sheff wed (h) Win Burnley (a) Draw Bolton (h) Lose Birmingham (h) Win Hull (a) Lose Huddersfield (h) Win Charlton (a) Draw Realistically I think this will be our best outcome. 14 points. Sounds like to much to get, Would leave us on 53, even then that might not be enough
Shiny ............that leaves 9 points need at least another 5 from somewhere could we beat Bolton and Charlton?
Face it everyone......we ain't gonna stay up!........away form is ****e, little confidence in the team, little fight in the team, little skill and endeavor in the team, a little improvement at home to be fair, but over all, too little to late. When did we last score away let alone win away? No points from Hull and Bolton, with the chance of an odd one else where at best. I am in no doubt that SOD and the Lansdowns have been talking and planning for next term in L1. Of course they will put on the "we will fight to the death and never give up" talk for us....they have to......we are fans and we always get what THEY want us to hear! I will wager that in 12 months from now we will be naming our team for the next game with no more than 4 or 5 of the current players in it.........
lets be honest we could win every game to the end of the season and would still go down as the other teams around us, form wise are as good if not better at the moment.
CCR - i agree with everything you say, except "little fight in the team". I see a team that is trying to do well, i see players calling for the ball at their feet, waving their hands, wanting the ball. I see workmanlike efforts being made. I also see endeavour. However most other teams have a spark of something in them that makes a difference. On Monday, though SW were the worst team I have seen for a long time, they still managed to get Johnson free enough to round Heaton and finish. A well taken goal with some skill. HOWEVER, that was his first goal for 5 months. Just our luck. We don't have the spark of a natural goal-scorer like Maynard, or a tireless bulldozer like Stead. But to keep saying the mantra of 'they dont care and they dont fight' is unfair in my book. But the rest of the post is correct. We are going down, as we knew when we lost 4-0 to Leicester. Damn that O'Driscoll for giving us hope.
Can't argue with that Glenn...........I don't get to see every game at home and was not at the SW game, so I bow to your greater knowlege!.........I did see a fair few home games before SOD took over and I think thats scarred me for life!
Last time one of our players scored away (think OG was on loan for a bit) was when we won away at Sheff Weds
our last 10 away games W 1 ( 10 GAMES AGO) DREW 2 AND lost 7 GOALS AGAINST 17 GOALS FOR 8.................. 4 TIMES NO GOAL WHETHER og OR NOT!
