It worked much better tonight and I have to say I thought Leadbitter looked much better in an attacking role. All 4 played pretty well but I still think in the end we will hopefully play with wingers as this often leaves our fullbacks having to do double the work in an attacking and defensive sense.
They all played well but we had issues with no outlet, especially on the right hand side of the pitch. The Centre to left hand side was crowded at times with no one willing or able to drag a player out wide and create a bit more space. All 4 actually played well as individuals and hopefully if we continue with this formation they will gain some more fluency to their play.
leadbitter was good yes he carried on where he left off at Blackpool. The good thing about playing these, is it gives the full backs more protection. Scotland was key to the formation working, he was outstanding. HOWEVER - to me we're STILL V SLOW at getting back to offer the cb's protection !
Agree with all the above. Hopefully with more games we will become better at protecting the CBs and having a bit more width when needed.
