Basically all teams used to play the 4-4-2 system. Now there is so many different set ups... But as a 4-4-2. What would be the best line up the Prem has to offer? ..................gk................ ...rb....cb..........cb.......lb..... ..rw....cm........cm.......lw..... .........cf...........cf....... There maybe a bit of leeway with a 4-3-3 but no fancy Dan formations. De Gea, and Salah surely have to take 2 of those spots, but who else?
--------------------- De Gea -------------------- Walker - Alderweireld - Otamendi - Monreal Salah --- De Bruyne --- Silva ---------- Sane -------------- Aguero ---- Kane ------------------
I think you have to assemble a team rather than 11 individuals. Based on this season... GK De Gea RB Valencia CB Alderweireld CB Kompany LB Alonso RM Sterling CM De Bruyne CM Matic LM Sane CF Salah CF Kane I think there's obviously better individual players out there but I've gone for pace, power and discipline. Kompany Captain. With different formations I'd consider the likes of Hazard, Firmino, Eriksen, Not Kante.
I agree ... the 11 best individuals would not necessarily be the best team by any means ... most people have gone for Kane and Aguerro... for me they would likely get in each other's way ...
Kante would have to be in there. No better DM ball chaser in world football at the moment for me. He would be the only Chelsea player who would come anywhere near a best PL XI though, at the moment so it aint me being biased
I will admit to a certain bias ... but I'm going with forwards that will get you goals against the big teams and countries De Gea Alexander-Arnold, Alderweireld, van Dyke, Alonso Mane, Kante, Pogba, Salah Vardy, Aubameyang
If it’s based on this season then I don’t know why Alderweireld (as good as he is) is getting so many shouts, as he’s barely played in the PL. De Gea Walker, Smalling, Vertonghen, Alonso Salah, Kante, De Bruyne, Sane, Aguero, Kane
If a manager could get that team to work.....jesus, that would be some ****ing team!! I'd probably stick Van Dijk in ahead of Smalling though.
I stuck Smalling in as I think he’s underrated tbh and he’s a commanding CB in the air, if Bailly or Alderweireld had played more this season I’d have probably gone with one of them, as Bailly in particular is one of the best I’ve seen of late in the flesh. I think that side in a 4-4-2 would be awfully exposed tbh, and I’d go with a 4-2-3-1 tbh with Matic alongside Kante and just Kane up top.
I'm just penning my worst 11 mate but I think Mignolet is going to take that spot. Pogba and Van Dijk will both make the cut just to avoid me and you arguing for the rest of the day.
What? A troll surely? Neither of them would be anywhere near a worst PL XI!! Van Dijk has improved Liverpools defence five fold (West Brom game notwithstanding), and Pogba has improved immensely from last year.
