You think they would win suing over gossip? Didn't think you could sue unless it was personally slandering someone. Would be interesting to see anyway.

    £30M, no way!

Wenger needs to extend RVP's contact and keep him or he will have no credibility left whatsoever.

The Spuds have kept Modric by saying no to £60M and Wenger has to do the same.

The fans will savage Wenger and the Board if they try to sell RVP, it is a line in the sand time.

  7. 25 goals in 31 matches so far in 2011 proves he is worth keeping and we won't sell even for 60m.

He may be injury prone but he will get us 20+ goals a season and that is what we need right now.

Selling him would be madness and really the last straw for the fans as we know the money would be 'trousered' by the Board not spent on a replacement.

  9. I doubt that The Daily Fail has any real evidence for what it says and is merely making educated guesses. However, if you are honest you will admit that what they are suggesting is not beyond the realms of possibility. They'll do exactly what they did with Clichy and Nasri - put word out on the grapevine that they will double any wage offer that AFC makes to ensure that your players do not sign an extension on their expiring contracts. As with Nasri, you will be forced to pay whatever price they tell you to accept, not that £30 million is a bad deal for a player approaching the final year of his contract. You mention the Modric case, but, of course, Modric has 5 years to run on his contract, so Spurs are in a much stronger position to resist Chelsea's tapping-up tactics, plus Levy is getting his contract renewal talks in early, long before the contract expires.

Are City's tactics evil? Probably. Will they ruin your club? Well, they certainly won't help you. Will the FA do anything about it? Unlikely.

For my own part, I strongly suspect that RvP, Walcot, and the others will wait to see whether or not you manage to secure CL footy this season before they even consider holding contract talks with the club. if they do leave, I suspect that it will be as much a backlash to the octogenarians who are running (even ruining) your club as much as a search for glory and wealth.

Lets be fair though the media arnt just making this stuff up without any prior cause.

The reason they Print these things is because we are an absolute pushover in the transfer market and we are soo easy to disrupt.

Man City wil now go in for most of our World Class players whenever they come through.

They will consistantly come in for our players. (and we all know it)

    1. For some reason we are happy to sell to them - despite being our rivals. So from Man City's point of view Arsenal is a place where they can go and buy world class players with Premierleague experience:

    Adebayor
    Kolo Toure
    Gael Clichy
    Samir Nasri

(this really ****s me off btw. We should NEVER Have sold any of these players to City)

    2. Selling Van Persie would be beyond stupid but I 'm pretty confident we will. (not necessarily to City)

It's the clubs strategy. He's the kind of player that will be able to go in into his mid thirty's (because he does'nt rely on pace or atheltiscm) but we all know Wenger's policy on older players.

For me selling RVP would be the final straw.

I would burn my ST in front of the Clock end stand if that happened in January.

I know it is just a newspaper report and there may be little truth in it but following on from the other players sold to Citeh, we should put Wenger and the Board on notice that selling him is a step too far and that the Emirates will become a wasteland as fans vent their fury by boycotting games.

No only a really biased fan could say this. Some fans like to hate on any player that leaves the club but sometimes its best just to look at things objectively.

Toure was instrumental in the 2003-2004 unbeaten Season, he was an absolute beast that year. He was also our best defender in 2004-2005.

After having one poor Season with us in 2009 (malaria?) and was shipped out for not getting on with our then club Captain William Gallas.
Wenger showed little loyality here and I think most Arsenal fans would have preferred to keep Toure over Gallas. We sold Toure when he was 26 and so in my opinion we miss out on his best years as a defender.
-You really think Djourou is better than Toure?

Adebayor is a Top Class striker. He's a douchebag admittedly but would be an excellent player to have. He's 6'5 quick, a good finisher on his day can be completely unplayable.
He's not as good as a fit RVP but still a top team should have more than just ONE quality striker.
-You would'nt prefer Adebayor over Chamakh or Bendtner?

Clichy's a very good leftback. He's better than Gibbs.

Nasri left for money and is better than all our midfielders (bar Wilshere who is out until Christmas)

A top squad is all about depth and we would be in a FAR better situation had we kept those players.

Read the first paragraph of that article and knew, straight away, that it's just a load of tabloid bollocks.

i said at the time ( or if i didnt i meant it)
at the time we sold toure he was abit toss, ssaying he didnt wanna be here and we had a fresh TV etc
adebayor was good for 1 season then toss, he wanted too much, if we didnt sell him he would of left either way, he demanded more than he was worth

and clichy has slowly been getting worse (probably our system to be fair) and cost us a fair few games and points

and as i said "although we could do with toure and adebayor now!
toure would be perfect next to mertesacker" .................
