Well, even tho the cost of it all sure hurts these days, I enjoyed coming up to see a fine all round performance. Drury was awesome, JET could have bagged 4 in first half, Murphy on song, and even the defense played sensibly apart from the odd hoof from Delaney( who actually played well and headed and cleared all afternoon. What fine player Martin has become too. And what a difference Chops is these days, naughty boy notwithstanding. Fair punishment for both sinners - but do we really need Jimmy and his wages just for the odd cameo laugh in the dressing room? I see a top 10 finish still possible, and a good base to build from for next season, with quite a few being shopped out. Still, puzzled by ALB being left out, though. McCarthy did make several fine saves tho, what the heck in kicks the ball out so damn often, I dunno. Basics what! Hyam was off colour in training apparently and good idea to rest him before Saints. All in all a very spirited, committed performance and one of the ebst goals of the season from Drury. I shall be at St Mary's, but dont reckon us getting a look-in, but you never know with us!
I whole heartedly agree SouthCoast We played a poor Bristol side off the park and thoroughly deserved to win. How many times in the past have we slipped up against the so called 'weaker' sides! A great team performance, Drury stood out for me in the middle and his goal was an absolute snorter! As soon as it left his foot I knew it was a goal, sitting in the top tier of the SBR I was right behind it! 43 Points and only another 3 wins required for safety. This season is a right off but I just hope that the boys kick on and finish strongly. We now must build for next year and iron out the problems in Defence especially.
