(i)Free kick routine ensuring 3 extra points at least (ii)Corner routine, ensuring 3 extra points at least. It's not that hard to be the first defender when taking a corner. Think of what TV brought to the table on the free kick front. (iii) A resounding pre match song played over PA system, to get crowd rocking. Singing the blues? it won't help get points but hot water in the gents' sinks would be nice!
1 - score more goals than the opposition 2 - concede less goals than the opposition 3 - see points 1 and 2
Point 1 - achueved Point 2 - achieved Point 3 - see points 1 and 2 3 points in the bag....this football malarky is a piece of piss
I miss the good old days when everyone was miserable as sin taking their turn to tell us how this was the poorest team they'd ever seen and how we would plummet in to oblivion. What if? New manager bounces (nice to lose our virginity in that regard after so many attempts) do come to an end at some point. Didn't I read earlier that it was important to win on Wednesday against Plymouth because we'd lose to Wednesday on Saturday? Now that's more like it. The doom and gloom I'm used to.
One of my favourites. The other one is the guy on his deathbed saying “I wish I’d made less mistakes” and the woman sitting bedside muttering “fewer”.
Perhaps we should play a speedy forward ( Sinclair Armstrong ) up front alone, Then have Chair or Willock as a roving midfielder ( not both ), Then play 8 defenders across the back ……………………….. We might not score any but we shouldn’t concede many either ……………….. Oh bugger just realised the flaw in my plan ………………………….. WE DON’T HAVE ANYONE CAPABLE OF ACTUALLY DEFENDING A BLOODY CORNER OR CROSS !!!! Back to the drawing board, anybody got any crayons I could use, I’ve eaten all mine
was there some stat going around that of the last 15 goals conceded 10-12 were from corners/free kicks? And my thread was meant to be a positive one!
Nah if we go down let’s go down spectacularly with a few games just hurling abuse at a group of disinterested players losing 4-0 and trying not to get injured before Dubai and finding a new club. The crushing disappointment of making a fist of it and going down on the last day would be too sad. Cov away last day. Sounds oddly familiar for a relegation. They’ll wheel out Eoin Jess as guest of honour.
