Monk, Ayew and Gomis shortlisted for monthly accolades Well done to Garry and the team! Who would be your winners? Manager of the Month Garry Monk (Swansea City) Manuel Pellegrini (Manchester City) Alan Pardew (Crystal Palace) Claudio Ranieri (Leicester City) Player of the Month Andre Ayew (Swansea City) Bafe Gomis (Swansea City) Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City) David Silva (Manchester City) Aleksandar Kolarov (Manchester City) Chris Smalling (Manchester United)
Honestly I think that the awards should go to: Manager Claudio Ranieri (Leicester City) With the departure of thier manager, I thaught Leicester may struggle this season but they have been excellent and exceeded everyone's expectations so far! Player Andre Ayew (Swansea City) Need I say more? What a player we have in our ranks!
..and player of the month goes to Dede!! Well deserved too, let's hope he can add to his goal tally against Watford
Someones not happy Ayew increases Sullivan frustration Posted by Hugh5outhon1895 on September 11, 2015 in News, Whispers please log in to view this image David Sullivan’s irritation at missing out on the signing of Andre Ayew seems well justified. The Swansea striker had held talks with West Ham and also spoke to his former Marseille club boss and Hammers managerial candiate Marcelo Bielsa prior to the club appointing Slaven Bilic. However, the 25 year old opted for a move to Wales where he has become an instant hit and having scored three times in his first four outings. He has now been named the first Barclay Premier League Player of the Month. In a question and answer session with ClaretandHugh Sullivan had said: “I regret not signing Ayew you because I really fancied him.” The player’s current form can only increase the chairman’s frustration.
I hate statements like this, maybe just maybe he preferred to sign for us and you had no chance of signing him anyway. Well done Mr Ayew, I still think we haven't nearly seen the best of him yet.
Glad he's won it and it's deserved but I'm surprised. Thought they'd have gone for Mahrez but maybe Ayew's overall play edged it for him.
He's a humble guy who sees what we are all about here at Swansea, no big stars but a team that plays for one other & he has bought into this. It is still early days but reckon he will do a lot better here than had he chosen to join a club like West Ham.
