Cracking start! Especially after going 1-0 down and having an apparently terrible first half.

Saw the goals too, both were quite good, Vardys especially, very good finish. Maybe this is his year?

Nice to see two players who were rumoured to be leaving get on the scoresheet.

Also, very strange team selection by Nige, but hey, who are we to argue now?

Any news on why Knockaert didn't play?

Shaky said Knockaert wasn't injured and it was purely tactical.

Being picky but Vardy's first touch hasnt got any better since we signed him. Look how heavily his first touch was for his goal. Had that pacey centre half Vardy would have got tackled

Better than Beckfords first touch - he was dire today. Well pleased for Vardy - takes a lot of stick. Hope the KP give him support on Sunday instead of getting on his back.

I was thinking that earlier, was watching that Bolton game and genuinely don't think I heard his name until the 77th minute.

Vardys finish was class, well done to the lad. Hope it gives him some confidence and he bags a few more <ok>

Proud, after seeing that goal again, I don't think it was a poor touch... He just knocked it in to the space and ran on to it.

By the way... Has Vardy always been that pacy!?!?

Vardys finish looks as if he has been learning from Nuge!

Great win for the lads, glad they improved in the second half.

Good win for you guys although I have a feeling Boro' are gonna be quite poor this season. They just haven't strengthened in anyway and for me was overachieving the first half of last season.

Already looking forward to our game against you guys next week, should be a really good contest but to be honest I hope you put out the same side as you did today. I like the idea of no Knockaert in the team

Well happy at getting the win of course but I´m also very happy for Vardy. Can´t see him getting 20 plus (you never know) but I really do hope he has a good season. AK out for tactical reasons & Nugent on the bench ?

I thought it was one of his better touches to be fair.

He knocked it the right length because he knows he's a **** dribbler.

If he'd dribbled then he wouldn't have got past the defender, we know he's got the pace and so does he.

It was a stunning finish, too. Difficult to say which goal was better but i'll go for Drinky's.

No backlift and it gave Steele (who I rate as the second best keeper in the league - discounting Julio Cesar of course) absolutely no chance.

I saw your goals, you jammy gits.

Thought Ross McCormack's goal was very good though. He's like a mini Nugent. I bet they'd be a dream together at this level.

<laugh> Murphy's goal was quite fortunate I'll give ya that but there goal was a yard offside (supposedly, I couldn't tell from the angle I saw on the highlights) and we had a fair few chances before that anyway. Think we deserved our luck with that. I thought Rosco's goal was good, his first touch really made it.

Hmm, he's not really the same style as Nugent. Nugent to me is a hard-working pacey goalscorer who likes to run at defences more. McCormack isn't that quick but prefers to drop deeper and be more creative, infact outside Leeds United I think he is very very underrated in this league. They would probably make a pretty strong partnership though.

He scored loads of goals in the conference with a similar approach - he is quick over the first ten yards, so if he has the space to push the ball into behind a last defender he will back himself to get there - and generally does ... at the least he draws a foul ... the finish was very composed 'tho, lets take nothing away ... Nuge would probably have blasted wide from the same position ...

As long as someone's putting balls behind the defence for him then Vardy's a good striker. The best strikers can make chances for themselves regardless of the service, we've seen Nugent score goals from absolutely nothing (I'm not saying Nugent's up there with the best strikers btw, just making a comparison).
