A little windy was it ?...sounded a little iffy in the 2nd half..well done the 6000 odd for their support..
Evening BC-a bit late tonight with the match report, family duties to attend to..... A very windy HP saw a deserved (just) 3 points go to Argyle. Bury are a poor team although they played the ball around quite nicely but with little penetration. Argyle were their usual selves - great at times and frustratingly average at others. A good goal by Lavery early on should have set the tone but despite several other first half chances we never really looked on top. Their goal at the beginning of the 2nd half was a decent individual effort but he should have been closed down and for once I guess Luke M will be criticized for poor positioning. The winner when it came was a normal (not for ARGYLE) goal, i.e a low cross knocked in by an advancing forward (RR). The weather played a major part so it was never going to be a spectacle, Reid was awful apart from the goal( and got subbed 30 secs after scoring!) and Blizzasd may of well as stayed in the dressing room. On the plus side, and i never thought I would say this, Alessandra was my and the sponsors MOTM-so much better playing as a proper left winger. Young made some exceptional passes but also wasted a couple of good dead ball situations. All in all the 3 points were far more important than the performance but I guess the weather was the winner. Have a great Christmas BC and everyone else.
I'm not sure about the deserved bit lyndhurst although you do add "only just". I wondered at times in the second half who was down to 10 men. It seemed to me that Argyle were actually defending a lead even though they had numerical superiority. Argyle's passing of the ball was abysmal a lot of the time and Bury's actually quite good. Agree Reid and agree Alessandra. I would have settled for a pount in this one given a choice once they scored. We looked second best a lot of the time in the second half. Conditions not ideal but Bury didn't find passing the ball a chore. But, it's what you do with it when you have it that counts and we scored and they didn't. Incidentally I think that's 9 (yes nine) for Reid this season so far. It's only halfway so is he actually going to be a 20 goal striker this time? He was bloody awful though......
The pitch looks decent despite all the rain, i agree with pretty much everything written above but the atmosphere is bloody awful and the hideous goal music and the pre match buildup adds zero value..does this club even listen to the supporters?
The pitch aught to look decent given what it would have cost had we paid for it. Premier League standard. The answer to the question is NO.
Three valuable points yesterday....although it sounded sticky for awhile after they equalized......why can't they all play well at the same time ?
No just those who've just joined, don't introduce themselves and then, most importantly, weigh in with an unbroken sequence of negative comments about the club, its strip, its players, the pitch, the pre-match build-up, the music and the atmosphere. Did I miss anything? I will apologise unreservedly if I turn out to be wrong.........
Do you think we all get a bit too suspicious these days? Mind you, given some of the prats who have jumped on and then don't know when the joke is over I suppose it isn't that unreasonable to be a little cautious. Benefit of the doubt until proven wrong for me.
Well been back in sunny Plymouth for the Hols but had only 3G connection so did not post, God bless Mum she doe not trust those new fangled computer things!!!! Well what can I say two poor teams and we scraped it, better lucky than good I guess. This time last year I walked out of HP scratching my head how we lost, this time skipped to the Brit grateful. Poor control in midfield, Reid could not beat a one legged man in an arse kicking contest (except for 1 second at least) but in fairness Tommy T was so often the same and thats what we need. Not heard that many good words about Alessandra since he joined but for me he was best player on the pitch with Lavery attacking wise. Nelse was solid at the back against a pretty uninspiriing attack and Luke will probably look at the replays for their goal but fair play to the lad good effort. Took baby Mex to his first game today and apart from cheering when they scored , the bruise will clear with time, he enjoyed it and learnt gween army. Lavery had good movement and kept the defenders honest which is what Reid needs, he cannot bully defenders at this level when leading the line is his only option. MOTM for me Allessandra but a mention for Blizzard who did the dirty stuff well.
