We are on 23 points and in the play off places in 6th 3 points behind Derby.
All of the top sides are dropping points and we are in a great position i am certain some of my fellow posters will be calling for Adams to be sacked again after today's 0-0 and they are entitled to their opinion.
We have no divine right to win this league and we are still in a very strong position to be able to achieve this even though we have had catastrophic luck for the whole of October.
All the moaning about Adams lately and the continuing scapegoating of Grabban and his "lucky" goals is pathetic.
I am frustrated at the lack of wins and goals but i have been around long enough to know we are playing well and moving in the right direction.

Now back to the real business..

I would like to add that goalkeepers seem to reserve their best performances for us!!! <ok>

My contribution is that we are on that same 23 points after 14 games that Lambert's Championship team had. Plenty of time left to move back up.

I honestly thought Forest and Watford would be out of sight after our crappy run this month same with Derby but anyone can beat anyone in this league.
The clubs that panic and get on the backs of their manager and players will be the ones to drop away from the hunt. Leeds have shown what happens if you have a trigger happy chairman , no thanks they are a pantomime club.

My issue isn't with the position in the league. It's that we have spent a month with exactly the same problems and we don't seem to be able to change things. Formation and personnel have been rotated yet we still can't score on a consistent basis!

Managers can't score goals. The performance levels are good and, IMO, things will improve.

    Ditto

Even yesterday, the stats show we dominated yet again, but with little to show for the effort. Okay, that was in part down to 3 or 4 good saves from Westwood so you could say it's a little unlucky, but why are we so unlucky in every game?

Exactly Rick. Adams did everything he could as a manager, it's up to the players to be more ruthless in front of goal.

Grabban's chance was an absolute gimme and the best all game. Jerome's header and Martin's headers were golden opportunities too.

Doesn't help when Callum Wilson is banging them in for Bournemouth. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but we bought the wrong striker.

Wilson rejected us for Bournemouth we didn't have a choice of 2 strikers and chose wrong we had no control over his decision, we did however let Martin leave for free but that is another issue. We could've signed Wilson as well as the other 3 but it was out of our hands.

We'll be able to judge that better at the end of the season, TMY&G. We'll have to see if our strikers can rise to the challenge, but I suspect that once a few goals go in things will change. Derby and Bournemouth are both one striker teams and will be in trouble if they get injured.

What I heard about Wilson was that he went to Bournemouth because he would play most games. We couldn't offer him that. If we'd gone for him before Grabban then perhaps he would have been more keen. It's all ifs and buts though. Grabban was clearly Adam's first choice.

Rick - Once we get a win and a few goals we'll go on a good run. I'm absolutely sure of it. I honestly can't remember us dominating so many games and not getting a win. The players must feel so frustrated.

The point you don't seem to be able to grasp is that instead of wasting £3m on Grabban we could have spent half of it on Wilson first.
They had clearly looked at both strikers but bought the wrong one.
Wilson probably would have jumped at the chance to join us had Grabban not been signed.

That is all conjecture Chippy you don't know why he didn't want to sign for us maybe he doesn't like yellow or wanted to live near the coast ?
From what I understand Lafferty cost in the region of £3m and also plays as a striker or wide man but even though he hasn't scored a single goal and can't tackle meaning he gets booked every time he plays ,I have not heard anyone question his signing .
Do you rate Lafferty as better than Grabban Chippy?. I have never heard one negative comment about him from you ,clearly you don't rate Adams selection regarding Grabban and of course that is your choice but within 15 mins of the match thread you were slating him and every other post was an attack on him with little justification , you can moan all you like but at least slate a few others or it gets boring.
I support ALL of our players and find it counter productive getting on their backs, if you were at the game booing every touch and shouting abuse it would hardly help the teams confidence so I dislike it.

It's a fair point 23. Lafferty has been an unmitigated disaster so far. I think the reason I tend to focus more on Grabban is because we signed him as an out and out goal scorer (with Lafferty that's not what we were buying) and he's missed some glorious chances. The penalty and yesterday's chance should have earned us four points. I can't remember Lafferty missing any sitters, I can honestly only remember him running around, getting angry and getting booked.
