I'm bored at the minute so let's all name 3 football related opinions you hold that you feel are controversial and against the normal view. Shall we say 2 general football opinions and 1 specifically saints related?

    Mine are:

    1. I find the Spanish national team and tika taka football in general very dull. There are some exceptions but in general I prefer fast counter attacking football like the German national team or Manchester United.
    2. I think the 3rd best player in the world is Yaya Toure, behind Messi and Ronaldo obviously. He's the complete player he can do pretty much anything and play in pretty much every position.
    3. (saints related) I actually really rated Dan Harding when he played for us and always favoured him over any of his competitors, although I'd take Shaw over him now.

This thread will surely cause a ruckus so lets keep it friendly and respectfully argue with each other <ok>.

I'm inclined to agree with #2. Perhaps not exactly putting him at third, but the sentiment of him being among the very best in the world, I agree with.

I may post my three later. As it is, I'm short on ideas.

Give it a good mulling over the more controversial the better!

I wish everyone would stop agreeing with me though.

I agree with number 2 and can see where you're coming from with number 1 but then there's number 3. I cannot agree with you there. Harding was the weak link in our defence when he played last season.

    1. Danny Wellbeck, Jack Wilshire and Jermaine Defoe are massively over rated especially Defoe who is so greedy and always shoots.
    2. Portsmouth deserve absolutely everything they get.
    3. Morgan Schneiderlin is the next Claude Makele and is already better than him at his age.

Now that is some tasty controversy! I'd agree about Welbeck and Defoe and I used to agree about Wilshere but he has since won me over. Point 3 is a massive statement though!

    1) Southampton will be in the Champions League within 5 years max
    2) 2-3-2-3 (The Metodo) is the best formation
    3) In the future, out and out strikers will not exist.

    1. Bobby Robson was an extremely over rated England manager. Didn't qualify in first tournament, second one got lucky and a poor group stage was glossed over due to hand of god. Third tournament, bottom of group no wins. '90 shocking in group , got lucky against Belgium and Cameroon, glossed over by leno defeat.

    2. Steve claridge knows what he's talking about.

    3. Dave merrington is a old dinosaur who is taking tax payers money under false pretended. Mrs duck could do what he does, she's an expert on stating the obvious, like Dave

Here's my effort. In a couple of years Bale will overtake Ronaldo as official second best player on the planet.

    My three:
    1. Jose Mourinho will be the next Chelsea manager.
    2. Lightening will strike twice and Man City will come storming back to win the PL title.
    3. Pochettino will speak fluent English by the end of the season!

I just have one that I can think of right now:

Footballers are not "overpaid", and transfer fees for British players are not "inflated".

Basing that on free market capitalism, something's worth is how much someone is willing to pay for it etc? I couldn't disagree more personally, but oh well, that's the world we live in.

Morgan Schneiderlin is a brown nose.

Have you noticed how he sucks up to the new manager in press releases now our dear old Nigel has gone.

Needless to say the very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov disagrees with me.

I think Welbeck is a real talent. OK he was not very good against Southampton at the beginning of the season but they had van Persie... Sturridge will come good now too and could create a good England partnership.

Bale is better than Rooney or Gerrard.

I know that 'Jermaine Wright' is basically a by-word for completely-useless-shower-of-****, but I actually thought he wasn't as bad as some people made out. I'm being serious.

Mull on that my friends. Do I win a fiver?
