    Trio ruled out

Boss's update on Alvarez, Giaccherini and Coates.
Ricky Alvarez, Emanuele Giaccherini and Sebastian Coates will be "out for around a month or so", according to head coach Gus Poyet.
The Uruguayan celebrated his one-year anniversary on Wearside on Wednesday, and to mark the occasion he sat down with SAFSee for an in-depth recap of the highs and lows during his time in charge.
And Poyet also updated supporters on the injury progress of three key players, admitting injuries are a part of the game.
“We have got a couple of little problems with Ricky Alvarez and Emanuele Giaccherini especially, plus a little bit with Sebastian Coates.
“We think they are going to be out for around a month or so, so it is going to be around that limit, maybe one of them a little bit longer.”
He added: “This is just football; I always use examples like a bull fighter being in the ring and being caught by the bull.
“It is part of that and this is football and the bad side of football is the injuries, so we need to be a good group and a good squad to cope with certain special players getting injured.”
And despite his frustration the head coach refused to dwell on injuries, instead challenging the current squad to perform in the trio’s absence to make sure they are unable to get back in the team.
“You need to be very lucky not have any injuries and very lucky to keep your main players fit all the time.
“The good thing inside a bad situation is that the injuries have been created by certain football aspects, a kick or twist and turn and not something that is a reccurring injury or the same injury, or the pitch is too soft or too hard or whatever excuse somebody can use."
He continued: “They are just footballing issues that are going to happen all the time when you are competing, when you are training, when you care and when you put your body on the line, so those ones we have to accept naturally.
“It is not nice because Ricky was getting better and better and Giaccherini was a very, very important piece of our squad for this year, but the squad need to stand up and players need to come into the team and do well to make sure that when they are back it is going to be difficult for them.”
