Pleased that despite yesterday's departure the team got on with a professional job. Yes we had a couple of moments where not closing down could have cost us but in the end we looked comfortable. Was really impressed with Varney & great to see Rocha back, fantastic strike by Norris and Huselkepp should take real credit for a bit of intelligent play to set him up....and Ben Haim - can't remember him playing that well. All in all was a real lift - and went some way to making up for that bloody ref in the Rugby this morning. Here's hoping for something similar against Donny.
Thoroughly impressed, yes Barnsley aren't exactly top flight competition but they gave us a good game and we had to respond in kind. When that ball hit the inside post though...I just had to wonder!
Super win today. You are quite right to wonder Tenn777, the Pompey players (except Norris!) should take a leaf out of Butterfield's book. He has a crack at every opportunity he gets.
