Thought it deserved it's own thread as it is no longer a rumour as such. 3 million bid has been made according to SSN.
As far as i'm concerned its still a rumour. Didn't they report that Hart had been offered the managers job before Adkins was appointed?
It is still a rumour. It's a rumour until Saints say its's official. Don't really need a new thread really mate. Anyway, grumpy pants finished, where on SSn... I have been watching it for an hour and no mention?
Under the premier league sub heading. " Vitesse Claim a 3 million pound bid has been made by Southampton for Alexander Buttner".
I'm not Fox's greatest fan (please note, I'm NOT saying he's rubbish), but I would like to see a left back who knows how to mark a winger. Would miss Fox's free kicks and corners though. Mind you if Buttner is a full back who converted from midfield we might end up with too much of an attacking left side unless there are some tactical plans afoot for Lallana. Regarding Fox, I forget what game it was but he played centre back for a while and looked half decent. I always wondered if he could play a kind of sweeper role in the PL.
From what I can gather one of Büttner's biggest assets is his pace, which is an area where Fox has been caught out on a number of occasions.
If Buttner is stating that he wants to move here, and Vitesse is claiming a bid amount, it suggests that they're framing this for their fanbase. Curious how much of that is up-front, if it's real.
Büttner is reported to have told De Telegraaf: "I want to go to Southampton. I have to wait for both clubs to reach an agreement, but I count on the co-operation of Vitesse. It would be a massive blow if this won't go through. I have been to Southampton and everything, including the living conditions, are perfect. The club, the stadium, everything, surprised me. Fantastic. And Southampton have big ambitions. With the new investor they want the same as Manchester City."
It does certainly sound like he's met Mr Cortese. The other geographical stuff sounds about right too. Lets face it, if you are not particularly bothered by London (which not every player is) then with regards to Fullham and QPR (and no disrespect meant) we do have a set up that equals, if not excels what they have.
Ha ha, yes. These cards are of course essential as we have the most ludicrously expensive railway in Europe.
