I think their view is that anyone could get west promoted with the squad they have. A walk in the park so to speak. Their not enjoying the tough ride saints are giving them and the chasing pack plus they play hoof ball
The old football purity thing runs deep with some clubs. Think of Saints (Branfoot) Spurs (Graham) and West Ham with Mr Big as he is known. Something doesn't chime right, and I'm not talking about Poopeys musicians. And I think this is all fair enough, its what distinguishes clubs from each other in style and aspirations. Bolton didn't mind Big Sam hoof, West Ham do.
This, and what Jonny says above, they expect to go up, and are still smarting from the indignity of relegation and find that the 'lower' league is actually quite difficult. And I know hammers that you have suffered this fate before, but the expectation is lets get right back there because we shouldn't be down here. Its what I felt when we went down from the prem.

Thought it was a three horse race after last Saturdays games and this has only be strengthend now.
Reading have the momentum and have a decent settled team. I'm hoping that like Cardiff & Birmingham before that after getting into striking range of West Ham and Ourselves they start to drop some points.
We have some tricky away games to come in Blackpool, Hull & Boro but I don't see any games we're not capable of winning. It's going to be a tough and exciting run in, but as long as we keep behind the lads at home this could be one of the most memorable seasons to be a saint

West Ham have always been proud of their football pedigree. They won the World Cup in 1966! The greatest defender in the history of the game would turn in his grave if he watched this lot

I'm fed up with all this nervous looking over our shoulders at other teams. Have we not got the confidence in our manager and players to srike out on our own for the summit of our ambitions and let other teams sweat to catch us? Personally I'm having a barbecue tonight to celebrate the fact that we've mathematically avoided relegation. Job done, Nige.
