    Hi all,

Take a look at the title....

It's 3 games in, Debuchy has played all of 3 games for us.

I was always of the opinion that Simmo is not a football player(shockingly poor technical ability, alongside the likes of Williamson, who disgrace the term "footballer" by virtue of their lack of ability on the ball). Simmo can't attack, is fairly overrated in defence and so on. One plus of Simmo is that he has great pace and acceleration.

Debuchy on the other hand offers ability to take on defenders, ability to cross(I love his ability to cross, has looked really good even though no one has been on the end of it yet) , bravery(really, he just might be our bravest defender, maybe even braver than Saylor), but at the same time has made some mistimed challenges as well.

Thankfully, Debuchy's errors have not been punished and is really justifying my earlier opinion that having a much better attacking FB than Simmo who's ****e attacking-wise, will help our game as much.

And that is not to mention the positive effects having Debuchy is going to help relief Ben Arfa of double teams he's been facing all season. And Debuchy isn't even a horrible defender, he just needs to play more controlled and I think he'll be outstanding for us.

    So to summarize,
Personally I believe having Debuchy as RB is much better than having Simmo at RB, since to be honest, not every player can take advantage of Debuchy, who only makes 1 bad tackle every now and then, and even then, they still have work to do to score. Compare that with having a RB who can't attack to save his life(no pun intended over the incident), I'd always take Debuchy in this case. Debuchy still hasn't adapted to the game yet, so I believe when he does we'll see a RB who's comfortable getting forward as well as a decent defender too.

    Thoughts?

Think it was obvious in the first 10 minutes of the Reading match just what a large step up we had made in signing Debuchy. Better in every department, apart from possibly outright pace.

In one of his three games (think it might have been Villa but not sure) there was a moment when we were trying a quick counter attack and one of our players auto-passed without looking over to the right side. Probably this is where Simpson would have been if he'd been playing. Debuchy was halfway further up the pitch again and if the player who had made the pass had looked first we would have probably had a good cross from Debuchy and possibly a goal opportunity. With Simpson... Not so much.

I'm very happy with MD. He seems to be adjusting to the pase of the prem quite fast.
He's also sexier and has nicer hair than Simmo.

Debuchy has made some errors, but the bloke has only been here for a few weeks. If he's this good already, then I'm extremely happy.

He wins things in the air well, his tackles are very good, and he offers something going forward.

He's made some **** challenges and has been caught out, but he's gonna take a bit of time to settle.

Very happy so far with MD. It will take a while for him to get used to the more direct football that's barreling down at him week in / week out. Also think he was hard done by to give away that penalty @ Villa. Agbonlahor went down extremely easily after treading on the side of Debuchy's foot.
He will only get better and adding more international players to the team can only improve the performances of all our players.

Debuchy is the better option. It will take him time to settle but he has done ok. He needs to learn to stop crosses and has been skinned at bit easily at times, but the PL is unforgiving. He'll get better once he grasps the pace of the game which will be hitting him like a steam train at present! I don't think we've seen a dot on his true ability yet. His crossing is better than we've seen so far, and so is his passing which has been aimless at times. As we saw with Anita though, patience is key. The penalty at Villa was really poor and put the team on the back foot. We got through it though and I'm convinced the guy will get better and better. Certainly can't fault his effort. You can see there is quality just waiting to burst out once he gets used to our game.

Simmo has been a good servant to us and is excellent defensively. Very brave and a real throw back in terms of his willingness to throw himself in the way of shots etc. Him Raylor and Saylor all deserve massive credit for last seasons runs because they were throwing in blocks left, right and centre. Going forward he is limited though and the team is evolving. It would be nice to retain both but realistically he needs to play. Improved so much in his time with us and always gave 110%. Bravery is a big part of defending and he has bucketloads. Also worth noting that Simmo put some decent crosses in this year, unfortunately Ba and Cisse are terrible in terms of anticipating crosses. Hopefully the likes of Sissoko can help Debuchy not suffer the same frustration.

Absolute no contest. The fact that Debuchy has came in from Ligue 1 and is already doing thinks Simpson couldn't like put his foot in and stop crosses is excellent.

Simpson is the worst right back in the league.

What I really like from what we've seen from Debuchy, is his attacking and also his challenging for balls! He goes for every ball in his vicinity! Very nice to see when you have a player like that.
