Clearly does not work, and yesterday proved that! Isnt it amazing how we werent performing that well while using the 3 at the back but as soon as its changed our performance improved significantly. Yes i know we used t against wolves for the first half and yes the result then was the FT score but if we had started with 4 at the back i think we would have given them an almighty thumping. It has been tried so many times and its obviousley something that he is trying to work on, but he first tried it in the championship and i cant remember exactly who it was against but it was changed after only about 25 mins into a game and he made a sub. Same against chelsea earlier in the season, started with it and didnt work went one down rather quickly but as soon as it was changed we drew level. and recently it has been used more than normal and our performances have not been at the standard that has been of recent months and yesterday was a return to that standard. We should stick to what we know best, cause it is clearly a much better formation for our players. Would also like to comment that i really liked the set up yesterday with fox and surman in the holding roles with howson, hoolahan and bennett in more advanced positions. really complimented there games
I understand that it was worth a go yesterday. It will be interesting to see how we counter Modric, Van der Vaart and Adebayor tomorrow. TBH we may as well play positive now there is nothing to lose.
I think with three Cbs, they may be an element of confusion there as well with dealing with crosses etc - not used to having the extra man I hope we play attacking tomorrow at spurs
