The bottom of our table see's Telford, Nuneaton & Dartford already relegated. The final relegation place is still up for grabs and it looks set to be out of Alfreton and Welling. Both level on points, but Welling are in front by +14 goal differnce (Alfreton on -34 and Welling -20). And believe it or not but Alfreton are facing Welling on Saturday! This result may be of some importance to us because we face Alfreton on the last day and this result could have an impact on how they play against us. If Alfreton lose vs Welling then they will be relegated as their goal difference will be way too much to overturn. If Alfreton win then they have to avoid a defeat against us!!!!! Will they park the team coach in front of goal playing 11-0-0 formation!!! If Alfreton draw then they need to better Wellings result in the last game so if Welling draw, Alfreton need to beat us! Unless They lose against Welling, Alfreton could really be a difficult game!
Im hoping they draw on Saturday meaning they must attack us to try and win. That will open them up at the back a bit as they will be pushing forward. We have kept 21 clean sheets already (best in the league) so I trust our defence against their attack who has scored just 44 goals (4th worse in the league). Will we score though or will we fail like the Mansfield game last season
The difference between this season and last season is that we have players who have a desire to win matches and a manager who will pull them off if they don't have that desire on the day
Yep. If we, they are down. No matter if Welling lose as well. Goal difference to high to catch up on. If we draw, we will end up in the play offs even if Barnet lose their game. Alfreton will only stay up it Welling lose. If we lose, we will be in the play offs and Alfreton will be safe. Unless Welling win also, then Alfreton will be down on goal difference. They can sit back and defend all game to try and get a point and hope Welling lose. If our game is level with 20 mins to go or so and Welling is level too, then Alfreton need to push forward in search for a goal to overtake Welling. They will leave gaps open. Hopefully we will be way ahead anyway.
