That was the date that any team last done the 'double' over us in the league. Unbelievable record that was broken by the best team in the land.
We lost to 1p5wich and Charlton. What's your point? Remind me what happened to you between the 20th November 2010 and December the 4th 2010 in the league and then remind me what happened between the 16th and 25th of April 2011?
I could've sworn you were relegated to the third tier of English football, mustve been another season then
so? how is that relevant to the article? man utd are the first team to double us since that date, spanning three divisions and three years. is it really that hard to understand yorkie...?
Of course it is, as its been less than 3 months since any team did the double over them. You will have to go easy on him, Supers, the poor lad is still harbouring a hope 1p5wich will get in the play-offs this season.
The date Supers, the date. You can't talk about April 2009 without thinking back to that glorious time, Gio Dos Santos tearing defences apart, Keano wins his first three matches, Norwich humiliated, what an enjoyable summer that one was...
aah, i see! ipswich 'legend' dos santos was very impressive during that match - perhaps unsurprising as he wasn't yours and was actually being paid for by a top premier league club while we had to make do with alan lee - and a match by the way, which contributed to 12.5% of dos santos' total tractor boys performances. 'legend' indeed i do remember the match rather too well for my liking yorkie. i can't believe it was less than three years ago - it seems like a million years ago now!!
How an 1p5wich fan has the nerve to take the p1s5 out of Norwich is quite incredible. Have a look at the league tables, son.
take a look at sheffield wednesday's trophy cabinet or leeds or even preston north end's or any manner of other clubs in the lower leagues, then ask yourself how the hell that trophy cabinet is going to help them play football on a saturday afternoon?
Well I would say that players would be more likely to be attracted to a club like Sheffield Wednesday or Leeds United than a club with no stature so perhaps that's how Supers... Although you are in similar form, would a player rather join Norwich or Liverpool? Is that down to the trophy cabinet? Yes it probably is
no offence yorkie but football has moved on. players don't see the choice between leeds and wigan and think, 'well wigan haven't won jack but leeds nearly won the european cup once'. they look at their pay packet and they look at which division they will be playing in. to compare liverpool to norwich is ridiculous! they are one of the biggest three clubs in the country. why not compare us to a comparable team in stature like say ipswich. who would most players currently play for do you think...?
Wigan are in the Premier League Supers so you're not comparing like for like. There are other factors of course like the current manager and ownership of any club but I think if it's a choice between Swansea or Aston Villa, that player's going to Villa. Leeds or Hull? Forest or Bristol City? Ipswich or Posh? Sheffield Wednesday or MK Dons? Not only that but Liverpool have (just) won the League Cup this time around because they've got a man who's hungry for and has experience of winning trophies. There is a vein of experience running through any successful club that they can keep tapping into. Roy Keane chose to do away with that, much to our detriment, but Frans Thijssen has spoken about wanting to come back to coach alongside Patrick Kluivert, so there's another example of how your trophy cabinet and history can help you win on a Saturday I don't think Ipswich and Norwich are similar in stature, we have a much more impressive heritage. It always amuses me how patronising the national media are towards you... last night's Match Of The Day 2, Colin Murray was full of praise for how Norwich are a credit to the Premier League, what a good job Lambert's done over the last few years... if Town were in a similar position they'd be talking about whether the glory days were coming back to Portman Road and whether we could sneak back into Europe
As was Alan Pardew and Lee Dixon. And deservedly so, we'd just suffered the narrowest of defeats against the premier league champions. In a match where Ferguson agreed we'd been the better side for prolonged periods. The same Alex Ferguson who was at the helm and chuckled into his Chateau Margaux after dismantling your lacklustre and clueless outfit 9 - 0 a few years back It's all very well bleating about trophies won and good times, but true fans endure the scheisse as well as the glory. Or have you conveniently 'forgotten' that horrendous drubbing
