47 views - no reply...... Will we start off with three tomorrow night? I'm hoping so, but think it'll be 0 - 0 or a defeat. Still.........COYT
If we get on a run of good form then this will be perfect as the games won't come soon enough, but if we start losing a few we could easily drop away, it's the key stage of the season now, whatever happens I'm sure we will be even stronger next year and that people keep the faith with Nicky UTT!
Let battle commence. The talking has to stop and the action start. I am feeling confident of a good March. Anything around 20pts will do just nicely thanks. The 2 fixtuires that worry me most are TWS and Lesta. They are the 2 banana skins of the current run.
we should try and draw them all, according to swanny in todays mail a point would be good in nearly all of them ...
In time you'll learn that even something with 200 views and no reply can eventually turn into a decent thread.
I reckon we could gather anywhere between 12 and 20 points, but it's all going to come down to whether or not we can improve our goals-to-shot ratio to something better than 500:1.
I think 15-20 points would be a good return from the 9 games. If we have plans for the play offs we have to be looking to take 3 points off Ipswich and Coventry at home. But with games against Blackpool, Leeds, Cardiff, Southampton and Leicester we will be punished for not converting our chances when they come. Anything like the form we've seen in front of goal since the turn of the year then it could be a tough month as holding said teams to nil isn't an easy task.
Unusually for me (given my targeted points system) I disagree. With 9 games in a month the priority is to try and win the games against our promotion rivals. If we're doing that we can use games like the Ipswich and Coventry ones to rest anybody who needs resting. Looking at Easter weekend in particular. We play Millwall who aren't a rival and M'boro who are. If we beat Millwall and lose to M'boro we get 3 points from 2 games, M'boro have those 3 points and a game we have no control over so could get 4 or even 6 points. If it's the other way round then we still get 3 points, but M'boro need to win their other game just to match us over that time.
27 wasn't so magic for Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Richey Edwards, Any Winehouse...
One thing is for sure, at the end of March we will be discussing our final push to promotion, or debating where it all went wrong. If it's the former then it's due to NB's faith in his strikers, if it's the latter we'll all know it was NB putting too much faith in a mis-firing attack. It's a case of toss a coin, to close to call. The current trend seem's to be, if the manager is successful he gets sacked, if he's a failure he gets sacked. We must keep NB either way. Don't want to see the pack hounds turning on him.
Not if the crucial goals have all come from midfield and/or defence. Birmingham at the start of December is the last time a striker scored a crucial league goal and we've W5 D3 L3 in the league since (Fryatt adding the 3rd against Bristol C is not a crucial goal, if it had been the opener or the second if they'd been fighting back it may have been arguable).
