I have every sympathy with Ian Holloway and his Blackpool team over the recent £25k fine for fielding what the FA deemed to be a "weakened team" against Aston Villa back in November.

Why on earth make all clubs choose a 25 man squad for the season and then not allow the club manager to choose his team from those 25 players? It's about time the FA reviewed their rules IMHO! <grr>

Hows about some consistancy from the fa, they use the smaller clubs as a target to enforce their rules but when one of the sky favourites do exactly the same thing, the silence from the dinosaurs at the fa is deafening.

Spot on mate. We've seen Arsenal do it regularly in cup games, Man U are another team that changes loads of their players for certain games. The FA just haven't got the balls to take on the big boys with their archaic rules! Can you imagine them tapping SAF on the shoulder and handing him a weakened team ticket for £25k? We've got more chance of being awarded a penalty at Old Trafford than that happening! IIRC, didn't Wolves get fined for the same thing last year?

Heard on radio that if the 11 Blackpool players (A.Villa) game got together and sued for defamation, FA stating they were not good enough for the premier, the FA would bottle it.
Would be interesting to say the least.
