Missed this match due to the weather on the A66, got as far as Kirkby Stephen and there was three inches of snow, none back home and I rang my mate in Stockton none there either.
Kept going but turned back at Stainmore as it was a complete whiteout.
Bringing the grandson over on Tuesday for the Morecambe match and just checked the weather, snow forecast for Sunderland so who knows what Stainmore will be like, so fingers crossed for a better day on Tuesday, not saying I'm jinxed but ......

Probably my favourite game at the SOL, the team Chelsea had out that day was full of internationals and we ripped them a new arsehole! The whole team was unplayable that first half and to think we had a centre midfield partnership who hadn't played much. What made it even better was that Desailly decided he didn't fancy another mauling from Quninny in the second half and decided to stay in the dressing room

Allowed a certain thug his first game 2nd half, as a twist of fate, we also gave him a guard of honour in his final appearance a few years back.

that 45 mins was just unreal, to a point quinn had destroyed one of at the time best centre halfs in world Marcel Desailly (long as my memory is correct) that he got took off at half time.

I remember applauding them off at half time the lads looking at each other speechless at disbelief we were capable of what we had watched.....frightening how far away we are from that now.

At least i beleive in KLD we have the right owner to build us back from the bottom up.

you think about us at our peak under Reid, we had top players but mixed with grafters, thats & should be SAFC, when we tried more so apparent top players outweighing Roswell etc, we lost it. Any player walking through the door now NEEDS to be here for the right reason, top player wrong reason...dont come

....I'm not ashamed to admit that this game brought happy tears to my eyes at full time.

My heart was bouncing all the way home...

I remember sitting there at half time 4-0 up(I think?) and just wondering if it got any better than this.
