In footballing terms, Johnson was good for us, won us lots of points. Won't go any further than that about him. Fletcher was a huge disappointment.
Johnson. Good player. Made it look easy when he wanted. Fletcher. Had a purple patch where he was scoring and looked good. Then nose dived.
On the field Fletch is in the same bracket as Danny Graham and Rodwell etc. Johnson is not and nowhere near.
Fletcher was a good player and without the injury and subsequent loss of heart we will never know. AJ, well he paid for himself in goals and assists, important ones, despite what came later. He was never of the heights we hoped but he stepped up time and time again wen we needed something.
Johnson was the one who would pull something out the bag for us when we really needed it. Fletcher started off pretty well, and then it just got worse, should have sold him after that first season, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Both talented players, both suspect characters, both cost us dearly, as have many others, we have suffered recruitment disasters for years, that's why we are where we are.
Not, I was chuffed to bits when we signed Johnson, I meant ultimately happened with him. But we have signed a lot of ****e over the years.
