Well Wrexham have probably already bought the title for the forthcoming season, but it would be nice to cause an upset in both our games against them. However, we still have the likes of Stockport, Notts County and Bradford to contend with, and with us and Wrexham that makes five with only 3 auto places, so some will have to do it the hard way and the play-offs are more like the lottery. So we need to hit the ground running in the new season.
Whilst you will probably know me more Brb for being full of giddy optimism, I'm wary of our chances for next season as I believe we're one of about 10 all splashing the cash and will be there or thereabouts. You could argue that 2023-24 will be a much harder league than 22-23 was. I foresee that it will be between us, Wrexham, Notts County, Stockport County, Salford City, Bradford City, Forest Green Rovers, Mansfield Town, Doncaster Rovers & even Colchester United as all clubs have some heavy spending power in their corner. Definitely going to be an interesting season.
