Curious to see if the Mercedes will have some problems hanging over from the last GP. Also expecting another hot lap from Lando in q3
Can't quite understand how HAAS keep having brake issues. It's almost like they haven't a clue after all these years how to calculate the cooling requirements and work out how to achieve that within the aero.... The Merc gearboxes are another interesting one. They say it's electrical noise that magnifies as the race goes on. Surely they can add some filtering either in software or hardware? As always be interesting to know more... There is a possibility FP2 times could be used as grid order if rain is bad Sat and Sun morning!!!!
Haas apparently have no upgrades coming all season, and they haven't exactly started strongly. Have they switched focus entirely to 2022? I think we could easily see both their drivers with Latifi at the back of the pack for the whole season. Nice to see Aitken in the Williams looking broadly competitive in FP1.
Lando receiving a 3 place grid penalty for overtaking on yellows during FP1. Oops, that's gutting for him but they are the rules.
BBC think he might appeal it. He was apparently going slowly, and couldn't see the yellow until he was alongside.
Ferrari have BIG problems. Low power shouldn't stop them getting in top 10 in wet. So looks like aero is very bad. Think they even had new floor! Great for Russell and Williams.
