So we have a squad of 15, including 2 goalies, assuming the contract terms are accepted by Adebayo Akinfenwa, Dominic Gape and Scott Kashket Hopefully get in some decent loanees
Well we didn’t really need 3 keepers but apart from that we are pretty thin on the ground. As well as loanees there must be a few free agents we can look at.
Scott Kashket has signed a 3 year contract extension taking up to the summer of 2022, hopefully it means he's got past his injury problems and we'll see the best of him again like in his first season with us.
That's good news, the club & Gareth must believe in him to offer a three year contract, especially with his injury problems.
Rumours going around that we want to sign Danny "Diving" Hylton, i would hate that racist twat signing for us so hopefully Ainsworth will put an end to the rumour asap.
The problem is we need somebody to score goals, also I can not see him coming to a side who are probably going to struggle next season after playing for Luton.
Football agents are a massive problem. They get inside footballers' heads trying to make them dissatisfied with where they are and it can affect their play. It's rife in the Premier League and I suppose it's the same, to a lesser degree, in the lower Leagues. The greedy agents don't give a toss for the person; to them they are a pawn that earns them money
Again if somebody is willing to offer 500k like they did for Luke, that is the way it goes for a team at our level & finances
Doesn't Gape's contract run out this summer? If so we'll get bugger all and there's nothing we can do about it.
Yep. Gape is one of 3 (Bayo and the young goalie the other 2) yet to agree terms. If they don't they are free to anyone who wants them. If they are that key to success they should have had their contracts extended long before they expired
I did'nt realise he was out of contract I thought he was one of the ones who were on longer contracts.
I'm going by the post #1 where I keep it updated with news. It is possible I missed an extension but I don't think I have. The young goalie actually had his contract extended 1 year so it just leaves Gape and Bayo to agree terms. The fact they have yet to do so is worrying. Probably means they are considering/waiting for other options, which is not a good sign
I must admit I was a little surprised that the club had offered Bayo another year because of age I expected him to go like Tyson. I do think Wimbledon missed a trick in letting him come to us.
