Pathetic attempt at late points. Despite many people's fears that this thread has withered and died, it hasn't quite. On Leger day we'll have the penultimate reckoning.

Just noticed that my tip for this Saturday’s ‘St Leger’ ran last Saturday in Haydock’s ‘Sprint Cup’! Surely that has to be worth a few points as tipping like that is rarely seen.
Kew Gardens takes QM to the front of the queue with 30 points ahead of Ron with 26 points and a disappointing (or maybe disappointed) OddDog in third with 24. QM may have the Champion jockey sown up but Champion trainer, First Season Sire and others look a little shaky. It's not over yet.
A well done to those who picked Pentagon: he finished 2nd to last but at least turned up.

Should have gone for Enable in the Arc. She looks so powerful I can't see her being beaten. My type of horse. Lovely lay back of shoulder, long powerful stride and really deep chest to house a big heart, plus fantastic temperament. A female Ribot
This was a whole lot more difficult than I could imagine. Most points were collected by the end of March!
I decided to give no points for a scandal and no points for a dark horse. Some of the dark horses won (mine won 3 races) but none made a real mark.
That leaves Quarter Moon as the winner with 45 points, winning narrowly from early leader OddDog (43 points) and NDS with 40 points came 3rd.
Well done to Quarter Moon who was the most consistent scorer throughout the season. But tough to predict 9 months ahead.

I had Enable down as my older horse because I was no fan of mudlark Cracksman. I put Nathaniel for Champion Sire because of his daughter, so that did not work out with her missing most of the term. War Command theoretically had loads of two year olds but not enough ran or were good enough to make him Champion New Sire.
I knew O’Brien did not have a top class three year old so I picked the obvious staying two year old for the St Leger; but the two others I put for Classics were no shows, even though another of his did win one.
The Trainer and Jockey titles all went to the incumbents; and two banker favourites won at Cheltenham.
Like quite a few other folks, my dark horse won a few small races but was never anything more than a Group 3 beast. No word on the Bryony Frost DNA test yet... but a short head win pays the same as a length!
