Ah well. I suppose it always was too much to expect Utd to do us a favour. Come on Burnley. Or Leicester. Or Brighton.
How poor was Pogba?......****ing hell, the mans a disgrace. B.Silva found the space to go one on one and get the shot off because Pogba is walking back into position after drifting out to close down. Anyway......c'mon Burnley
Lazy and selfish. I don't care how much talent a player has, if he won't make the effort I wouldn't want him anywhere near my team.
Cant understand playing darmian. 1, he’s not a centre back. And 2 he hasn’t played for god knows how long. To throw him in, into a weird position just didn’t work. Defending for the second goal was atrocious from him. Ran in with Aguero when smalling has that run covered and then not even sprinting to try get a block in was criminal. Shame because first half you defended relatively decently. To fibish the game with martial rashford lukaku sanchez and not look at all threatening is a real worry.
It was a surprise line up tbh. Wasn't expecting either Young or Darmian to be playing. Our defence is ****, but I thought if we did play with 3 CBs it would be Lindelof, Smalling, Jones and have Dalot and Shaw as wing backs. Hoping we'd play a fluid 3 of Herrera/McT alongside Pogba and Mata with Lingard and Rashford up top. The key for me was as strong a midfield as possible but one capable of creating goals, but instead played Fred and an inexperienced Perreira. I thought the first half City looked nervous. They were slow and apprehensive. Far too many times the pass was on and they'd play sideways or back. I felt the longer the game went on like this, we'd at least get the draw. Sadly, with the line-up we had I couldn't see the creativity to score but maybe a set piece or a moment of individual brilliance might just have got us the goal. The second half started pretty much the same way. And then the goal came from nothing. A fck up by Fred, one pass and a weak goal to give away. At this point City suddenly found their balls. A goal up then they started to play. Even then I didn't think the game was beyond us. Then fck up number 2 by Fred and it's game over. Personally I think a better midfield and City were there for the taking.
Jones went off injured against Everton, Scott McT is also injured, ole hopefully thought Herrera wasn't match fit enough for a game of this size (I say hopefully because I hope the contract situation isn't that bad).
I didn't mind the CBs tbh, but Young again as rwb... bloody hell. And I would rather an unfit Herrera on the pitch than Fred lol. And no reason why Mata shouldn't start. The first 50 mins City were playing at a snail's pace. Gutted we didn't get anything from the game because I honestly believe we could have.
They are really bad at the moment. But just because they are in a trough atm does not mean they couldn't change things very quickly.
