The sad thing is that few challenge it. I've disliked Sterling for how he's conducted himself when he left us - I believe most of us do/did and I've delighted in ridiculing his every poor touch, decision making, shooting etc etc....as I did Torres when he had the audacity to leave us . Of course that's my football bias. But I admire how he has been very vocal with this. I admire him a lot - the lad is what? 24 years old and he's calling out the bigots! Your finishing and decision making might be questionable Raheem but well played son, well played indeed.
The game against city on the 3rd is likely to be like the Anfield one, neither manager would like to lose. It is going to be very tight.
be more open as i doubt the home fans would accept pep backing off like he did at anfield. just hope we take our chances when we get them.
Recovering form injury isn't really compeltely rested though. Not sure about debruyne. Have not heard much on him since. Silva and aguero will be 2 weeks type of things i hear.
City have got very good players in all departments, Aguero not playing can be a bonus for us, because he likes to score against us.
For me there is a thing where people are actually allowed to not like someone still. I felt his comments on the reporting on the two young city players very well made. not liking someone is not a reason to not listen to what they say. This is whats wrong imo with the entire thing these days in media. I think a certain someone called them left wing or liberals or whatever But its this simple. if someone disagrees with you they are evil and a racist or whatever and we don't even listen one bit to them. that's how you get a trump in power. Sterling hired a new agent and clearly plotted to get out of anfield. His actions compared to say alonso or torres even or even coutinho.... well he downed tool in the midst of games and hurt the club on the field which is the biggest issue. There could be a ranking of people (here is my opinion): 1. suarez - (who i believe bit people to get out of anfield too) I believe he put in the ultimate efforts when available. I think the first bite was premeditated, the racist stuff was goaded by evra then made worse by comolli (why comolli was sacked imo) and the second bite was an amazing stupidity as it hurt is country. Sqaurez hurt us a huge amount with his long bans but he played his best and got 31 league goals. .. so despite it all is loved still. 2. Torres - He didn't down tools at all just stated he wanted to go and we sold him. HE was probably tapped up I;m not sure he threatened a strike or anything but he went to Chelsea. He was so bad he didn't even need booing. I seem to remember that he was boosed a bit. 3. Mcmanaman - Ultimate betrayal as he left on a free. Club was blamed more than him. Was called a bitter blue etc but eventually was given a coaching and ambassador role. It helped he ****ed off to spain. 4. Owen. - The sin of all sins. We all knew what he was at and rafa sold him for a 3rd of his worth to get something. This was bad enough but then he shafted us with newcastle and blamed real and then after given them nothing due to injury he committed the worst sin of all and joined utd. He was round booed and sung once am manc never a red. AND yet.. still.. the club hierarchy gave him a role. even now he's loathed by many. 5. Sterling. - Same story, new agent very clear games were being played. rodgers imo fell for it and they used his words against him. The naive great offer comments etc.. Once we sold for great money it could have been over but he made absolutely sure we would sell by putting in stinking performances where he was clearly showing he wanted away 6. Coutinho - tapped up by barca and faked injury once deadline day passed he got up off his sick bed and played really well up to the next window whereupon he went injured again and was sold. He went to barca for mega money and did give his perofmrances 7. Mascherano. he wanted to go for a year. He stayed and tried his best for rafa. he then left. he didn't get a great send off but courted us a bit and peoepl did then trun him into a better player than he actually was imo. 8. Alonso. He got the hump over rafa and barry. He stayd and played amazing for the year, we were second and he doubled his fee and moved to real and was lauded by all. For me three things leap out of this a) If you put your effort in you get more respect b) it really helps to leave the country as LFC fans then don't care as much c) It does help if you are straight about leaving. For me.... sterling gets it cos he joined city and cos he stunk the place out to get his move. He went like torres for a fabulous fee but what he did was seen as deeply dishonest. theres 4 or 5 others there that left and haven't had the vitriol. Owen or sterling. probably the top 2 most hated.... (well diouf is actually most hated for different reasons) I would state the case that LFC fans have a right to make thier feeling clear on sterling but in the end after they have done the real reason he gets it is cos he plays terrible every bloody game he comes to anfield. Owen still gets it. I think there was a testimonial or charity game where fans let him have it... like thats going a bit far tbh... especially where the idea if charity. IMO if some well to do chavs pop off abuse at him and call him racist names he should stand up and have it dealt with. I would back him on that every time.
I think you are right. Pepe might have tried to get shut but without aguero they are much blunter side.
That's great news. We're likely to have the two best central defenders in the league for the next few years!
yeah but this one and the last one were impact injuries. same as Ox they could happen to anyone. Compare to sturridge and lallana who are pure muscle strain types where they are breaking down in normal play and unable to stay fit at all. I would be interested to note if the theories aorund intensity and sprinting are true or if the warm up type talk has some basis.
