We can only speculate. However, that non home grown player for CL squad could simply be Lamela. Another idea is that we need to bolster our Under 23's defence. Against that theory is why are we then supposedly buying Ben Wilmot? As I said-speculation.
Random French Starlet Watch Since a month can't go by without us being linked with another member of PSG's youth team who don't have a hope in hell of getting into the first team since they won the EuroMillions (so shut your gormless trap Jimmy Bullard) FootMercato are saying we had scouts watch Valenciennes' ex-PSG academy centre back Sikou Niakate. So if people had reservations about Ligue 1 players, wait until they see a Ligue 2 one!
This is from the BBC... An investigation into the Liverpool mayor's claims that there may have been fraud involved in Ross Barkley's transfer from Everton to Chelsea has found no evidence of criminal activity. Joe Anderson, a lifelong Everton fan, wrote to the Football Association (FA) and Premier League after the 24-year-old England midfielder's £15m move. He claimed the "circumstance" of the deal "warrants serious investigation". Merseyside Police said officers had found no evidence of a crime. The force's assistant chief constable has written to both organisations, stating police would look at the deal again if either found any evidence in their own investigations. The FA and Premier League have been approached for comment. I dearly hope that no police resource was wasted on this load of old bollocks. What next........Joe Anderson asks police to investigate Everton's summer spending...."We were robbed....numerous times...there should be a prosecution" said Joe Anderson.

Transfermarkt's an interesting site and it's useful for a lot of things, but their market values are just bizarre. A lot of them are quite low and some others seem utterly baseless. No idea how they come up with them.

Hack Watch-Worthy Watch Several blogs are suggesting that, after Son's success, we're looking to sign his fellow Korean, Cagliari's 19-year old striker Kwang-Song Han. Han is from North Korea, so is not his "fellow" Korean for reasons that shouldn't need to be explained... Besides, he's on a season-long loan at Perugia.
Plus his agent has said that 'there has been no contact from Tottenham'. He is a fellow Korean though, albeit one North and one South. Both view themselves as Koreans and I read somewhere they are going to enter a joint team for the Olympics. If we do sign him, expect Samsung or Kia to be the sponsors of our new stadium. Which might make it financially viable for Spurs to take a punt on him. I'm guessing his agent is the one behind the story, Spurs would be an ideal place for him, the best place for a youngster to be given a chance and the top Korean player there to mentor him. Then again it could be the press putting two and two together and making five.
Nearly, but not quite: "Officially, I do not have a call from Tottenham. There are several officials, from Germany… it’s normal that several clubs ask about him." "Because he is a youngster who is playing very well, who here in Italy is being followed by Juventus, an important club." "It’s normal for everyone to talk to me. But officially, from Tottenham, I do not have a call." Officially. Twice. Hmm... It would be a massive story, if it were true. The two biggest football stars of the two Korean nations playing for the same club. Would the bloke with the red button even allow it to happen?
With a bit of luck he might threaten to wipe Liverpool and Manchester off the face of the earth if they score against us.
