Jansen's move does not seem great for anyone, tbh. Is it really so outrageous to have three strikers at the club? I haven't checked my working yet but doesn't that mean that we're now one injury away from having zero spare strikers? I guess we have Son but really I thought there would be time enough to give Jansen some games here and there, especially with Llorente obviously not being a long-term signing. And just having him out on loan - does that really benefit the club much? Shop window to an extent but so what? Just the fact that he sits on his arse on Spurs' bench probably makes his value at least 15m doesn't it? Is he gonna get more valuable knocking in a few goals in the Turkish League? Maybe if he absolutely storms it... I dunno - I liked Jansen. I wanted him to come good. He surely must be sort of able to make runs and find space instead of always wanting backs-to-goal tussles with centre backs, no? Poch could teach him how to do that? Well he should have gone to Brighton, for sure, but I also do sort of like that he's now with Soldado. Peas in a pod - both clearly decent but both sort of cursed at Spurs. It'll be really satisfying (in a spot-squeezy way) if they come good.
Cross Mauricio Pochettino and you're history. As Andros Townsend found out, you do what you're told or there's no use for you. Before his petulant row with a member of staff, Townsend wasn't getting on the pitch because he wouldn't do as he was told. I think this killed young Vincent. He was getting the coaching but not showing any sign of acting on it. I'd rather that we were brutal about whether a player has a future, than Arsenal Wenger who collects misfits, the sick and the 'just not good enough'. They got to the point where they had 35 senior pro's, some of who never get near the pitch and are eating up tens of millions of pounds in wages. Vincent was offered a loan to a decent club with a very good manager who would have improved him in a great environment. He turned it down despite being clearly told that he wasn't getting on the pitch at Spurs. He shouldn't want that and we can't have it. We don't have the money to waste. I'm surprised GKN is still with us but maybe there just weren't any takers or rumours of the penny having dropped in training are correct. Sissoko has survived and there does seem to be a bit more about him this season.............Nah, **** it! I know nobody wants him.
They're already talking about the January window and who we want to buy, wish they'd give it a rest for now as I'm exhausted with he recent one.
Maybe something happened with Vinnie about which we know nothing because I thought he deserved another shot.
A real WTF here. At least with Chrissy in charge at Brighton there would be better lines of communication for Spurs in stating what they want to see from Janssen while on loan. Unless something has gone on behind the scenes, I am not happy with how Pochettino seems to have handled this one.
There is every possibility that the numerous interviews Vince gave in Holland at the end of last season weren't received particularly well by Poch and so it has come to this. I cannot fathom how or why the player would actually prefer a move to Turkey over staying in the PL and playing for manager who knows exactly what it takes to succeed at Spurs.
As I pointed out a few days ago, it's not hack clickbait when City themselves are tweeting about it - it's tapping-up without the plausible deniability that Los Ladrones, Man Utd et al hide behind when their preferred papers do their dirty work for them.
