I'd like City to take a look at Charlton's Gudmundsson, he's a player way too good for League One, and probably too good for the Championship.

Anybody who thinks Hernandez isn't very good isn't going to have a very good opinion on many Hull City players...
Who could we possibly get to replace him if he went? Troy Deeney is apparently worth north of 20 million!? **** that for a laugh. Stick with Abel unless they're going to throw something stupid at us

I can't fathom anyone saying they don't rate Hernandez and would sell. He's settled into the team now, he's enjoying his football for club and country, and selling him just means another six months of adapting to a new striker, who could well flop.
They bloody well better get plenty of fresh blood to support him in the PL for him to be effective then.
Vargas from Hoffenheim? Has a double for Chile, and would gel well with Hernandez. Looked good for QPR when he managed to play.
A lot of his appearances for QPR were off the bench, and still managed 4 goals including a double against Liverpool.

Thats been Abels problem, too good for the players he has had around him. If/When we get someone that can give him the 'right' service' he's Premier League.
It will be interesting if Abel does stay on how well he will do, last time we were in the premiership he struggled how ever he needed time to settle and now he seems to have done that. Defenders he will come up against will be much quicker in thought and some in speed than many championship players but lets see how he goes, one things for certain he needs a good forward to go with him. What amazes me is all this transfer talk means nothing without the ownership been sorted and the manager committing himself to the club.
People going on about service are misunderstanding a striker's role. It's not like on the school playground where the striker just waits for the ball and everyone else jist gives it to him. A striker's job in the modern game is as much about creating those chances. He has to lead the line with strength and commitment in order to get the team up the pitch. Getting the ball forward is easy but someone has to be there to do something with it.
The Spain - Czech game had a good example of this. Czech were defending for the entire first half and when they hit it forward their striker didn't challenge for the ball at all. So of course it just came back again and again. The commentators pointed this out a lot. It's easy to say he didn't get a chance because of a lack of service but the reality is that he never won the ball and held it up. He never even tried really. Hernandez has been guilty of the exact same thing a few times last season. Of course he had plenty of good games, and was excellent in the playoffs, but there were some games where he just didn't try enough. It's very unfair on the rest of the team who do battle for everything to then say they're not giving him service. Bruce remarked at the height of Abel's form last season that "I'd still like to see more from him if I'm being picky". I'm sure this is what he'll have been on about. It's nice if a striker scores goals but that really isn't the whole of their job.
Good points. For a team like us, it could be argued the strikers are the most important defenders on the pitch. Before you laugh, it is their job to harass the opposition defence and chase everything, ensuring they dont have a free reign to just keep the ball at will and mean we are constantly defending,. This is what Lester did so brilliantly last season, Vardy and Okazaki didnt give the opposition defence a minute's peace and chased everything, lost cause or not. One thing every professional football wants is time on the ball and they didnt give them this to start new attacks from the back.
We should have signed him (Deeney) after we'd sold long. Brilliant player.
Brucey doesn't know a Striker when he see's one, not usually on his shopping list, albeit he got 'lucky' with one in Abel!
Think we'll see how lucky he got when Abel gets another crack at the pl. Upto now Bruce paid £9 million for someone to score 20 odd goals in the championship
