From 2014 the rules for Le Mans could turn out to have major effects,

With rules being driven towards fuel per lap and less about how powerful your car is fuel efficiency could become even more important than it currently is. Several motorsports are now hinting towards fuel caps for races rather than limiting engines by pegging them back every few years. 2014 could turn out to be quite a interesting year with both le Mans and the little known F1 series having significant rule changes, as well as several feeder series.

I think it could ruin the Le Mans series to be honest, the cars have been getting less powerful year on year, at this rate the GTE-Pro cars will be quicker than the prototypes. If the cars are going to run largely on a hybrid system, wouldn't it also take away some of the drama? The E-tron was near silent as it is.

If it opens up the series to more manufacturers, im all for it. I think many car producers will now enter to embrace the hybrid system, to use in their own cars in the near future, and of course show off what they can do to potential customers.

Every LMP1 must run closed cockpit from next onwards I think also
    :(
Personally I think the Audi R10 was one of the best looking prototypes to ever enter the race.

    End of an era :(

I actually prefer the closed cockpit cars. The old group c cars were closed cockpit, and they were immense, and some were really cool looking too. I do like the Audi R10 TDI though, much like you.

I think I prefer the closed cockpit style in general. You get some good ones and some awful ones but overall..

I think the R10 is the best there, the R15 is a mess, and the R18 looks like an evil rocketship.

Do these changes apply to the GT cars too, or just the protoypes? I'd hate it to happed to the GT cars, the Corvette C6.R makes the best sound in the world (i mean it), it shouldn't be replaced by the sound of a hybrid unit charging.
