Must be up there as a contender for most anticipated race outside of the Festival(s), especially with 3 of the top 5 antepost Champion Hurdle protaganists in action. Should be an absolute humdinger. I do genuinely think that Jezki could serve it up to the legendary Hurricane Fly.

    Thoughts?

He might well do. Apparently he has matured well and is stronger this term. Also he has had a tune up recently. Should be very interesting.

Would love nothing more than the Champ to enjoy another perfect season but this season more than any other I'll be watching over my shoulder for the young guns coming! What I would add though is that if any horse can stick the proverbial 2 fingers up at the same old 'experts' who habitually wrote him off all last year it's the FLY <cracker>

It's always nice to see a "winner" winning. If the Fly wins impressively we could be all set for another Ch Hurdle win.

Jezki is an absolute beast and if it werent for The New One to be opposing in March my money would be on him. I fancy him to win this but reckon come March and any possible clashes with the Fly before then will be a lot closer.

Thank you Beefy but I'm sorry to tell you I have already had a losing bet so the dream of a perfect season for your Champ must wait one more year.

I wonder will Willie let Annie Power or Un de Sceaux take their chance in this? Both are in my five to follow. Interesting Hurricane's normal pace maker Thousand Stars ain't in the frame, I'm sure Willie will want one of his posse to ensure there's a strong pace on...

Would imagine Un De Sceaux might be kept apart from Hurricane for now? big ask for Jezki to beat the Fly but he is race fit. never realised just what a race he ran in the Supreme before he hit that last hurdle. interesting!

I see Jezki as potentially a horse that could slip under the radar. It did repeated demolition jobs in Ireland last year. Furthermore, finished a very respectable 3rd in the Supreme, considering as rightly stated by Topclass it smacked the last hurdle. Correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't the Supreme ran in a quicker time than the CH? Don't get me wrong i'm a massive massive fan of The Fly and he is a legendary horse, i just think Jezki may give him more than a bit to think about.

What a joke of a race. Hardly a grade 1, and the fact that it is Hurricane Fly's world record breaking race too...Is an insult to the great horse. Officials should maybe think about downgrading these races to grade 2's if there isn't enough opposition to contest them.

It really is hugely frustrating that the race is so cut up now for his Grade One no. 17. It just seems no-one wants to take him on which completely ruins the spectacle for the fans.

Regards downgrading these type of races due to lack of credible opposition though, would mean Sprinter Sacre will also be winning a lot of 'Grade 2's in England this winter in 4 or 5 runner fields against vastly inferior opposition such as Kumbeshar, William's Wishes, Edgardo Sol etc in 'Sprinter Sacre benefit races' :undecided:
