I think this time yesterday we would have all given our right arms off for a total just fractionally over 300, so 361 is a huge effort. need to get a early wicket, just to unsettle them. can't wait to see swanny on this wicket.
Watson put Rogers in a difficult position by reviewing that, the Aussie need to learn to review when they think they're not out not when the wish they were. That said I feel sorry for Hughes there I'd be livid if that was and English batsman.
To any aussie cricketers out there, a quick guide to the review system! If the oppo batsman is given not out and you think he is = review If you are given out and don't think you are out = review Its not that bloody hard is it!
England's review policy that the bowler, captain and wicketkeeper all have to agree is excellent. Prior in particular is great at making the calls and with Cook at slip they have three different views of it. Feeling a lot more confident about 361 now I was worried we were 50/100 short as the pitch looked good for batting. We've had some luck but the bowlers have done well to keep the pressure up.
i agree Bath - our total was probably 75 - 100 light but with them 4 down and Broad and Andersen yet to take a wicket things are looking prett rosy at the minute. If we can just eke Clarke out cheaply then we should be good for a nice healthy first innings lead. That said i'm sure i posted something along these lines in the last match and was proven to be way off the mark.
Get in Swanny! If we get them out cheaply, I'm not sure I'd want to enforce the follow on - not if the wicket is supposed to be decent still.
England's first two sessions today Fast runs from Broad and Swann this morning and then Aus in tatters at 86-5. Follow on a distinct possibility .........?
Well now if we could take Clarke I'd say there's a good chance. We'd need to move through the tail quickly and I don't see us managing that, well not for 70 runs.
