I'm hoping for a convincing win by a side that's pretty unrecognisable from the one that won yesterday. Debuts for Chiriches and Lamela would be a good idea and run outs for Friedel, Kaboul, Naughton, Holtby, Sandro and Defoe seem like a no-brainer. Are Lennon and Chadli fit enough? No idea.
Tromso beat top of the table Rosenborg yesterday 1-0. Rosenborg fielded a team with 4/5 different players to their previous league game, for reasons I don't know, I thought perhaps to rotate for a Euro tie this week, but no, they got knocked out of the EL by St Johnstone already, the scottish premiership outfit who sit midtable. No takers for a splendid jock strap is disappointing, I imagined a bucket load of entrants for that.

We've got Cardiff away and then Villa away within 2 days the following week so you can bet we'll be resting players for the Villa game, might as well give a few of the replacements a test run on Thursday. If these players aren't good enough to beat a side like Tromso then it's best we know now rather than when we get some injuries and start playing them in the league.
